"Why do you hate him so much, Rani?" My brother, Roman, asked, making me roll my eyes.
"Why do you even care about that?" I replied, sighing deeply.
"Because Marco is my teammate and also one of my best friends. I want you two to get along," He stated, frowning slightly. "He will also come over today."
"What?" I exclaimed, my eyes widening in shock. "You can't be serious."
"Oh, I'm very serious," Roman replied, smiling at me cheekily.
"I hate you," I mumbled, covering my eyes with my hands.
"Of course, sweetheart," He stated, patting my shoulder softly. "Can you please promise me something?"
"I don't know, it depends on what you want me to promise," I replied, quickly sitting up.
"You have to be nice to him tonight," My brother stated, which made me shrug my shoulders.
"We'll see," I challenged, smirking at him before walking up the stairs and into my room.
I fell onto my bed with a deep sigh, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
What was I supposed to do or to say later when Marco was here? That guy somehow always managed to make me feel nervous and to be honest, I enjoyed his company, although we always ignored or insulted each other.
After just laying in my bed for some time, I realized that Marco would be here in less than one hour and decided to put on one of my dresses to see how he'd react.
I frowned a little, but walked down the stairs nevertheless after Roman had let his friends in.
"Hey, boys," I greeted them as I walked into the living room.
"Hey, Rani," Some of them replied, but I just kept my eyes on Marco who was staring directly at me.
We kept on staring at each other for some time, until I decided to talk to him.
"Hey, Marco," I mumbled, running a hand through my hair after walking straight towards him.
"No insults?" He questioned, raising his eyebrows.
"I promised Roman to be nice," I replied, shrugging my shoulders.
"Well, I didn't," He stated, chuckling before looking into my eyes. "But I'll still try to be friendly."
"Why?" I asked, making him smile a little.
"I don't know," He answered, biting his lip, "Maybe I'm just sick of being enemies."
"Really?" I said in shock, raising my eyebrows.
"I guess, I kinda like you," He replied, shocking me even more.
"Are you drunk or something?" I questioned, but he shook his head.
Before I could even say something else, he leaned in and pressed his lips to mine in a soft kiss.
"What was that?" I breathed out after we broke apart.
"A kiss," Marco replied, shrugging slightly. "I told you I liked you."
"You're an idiot," I stated, hitting him playfully.
"Well, aren't I your idiot now?" He asked, smiling cheekily.
I smiled back at him before leaning in for another kiss. "Maybe."
