DewLeaf yawned as she walked through the forest. Her ears where pricked for prey as she walked alone through the under growth. The sun was barely rising and dew evaporated in the sun. She sighed thinking of every thing that had happened in the past few days. She set off to hunt as soon as BirchLeaf set out to get her nine lives earlier that morning. She suddenly pounced, landing on a fat wood pigeon. She spat out feathersbas she scraped dirt over it. Then jumped as she saw an orange pelt through the bushes. She pushed behind the corner of the Bush. It was only her mother, sunning herself. She turned around and went back to camp. She went to the medicine den. Grasspelt was in hey nest and mouseseed was sorting herbs. "Yes?" She asked not looking up. Grasspelt looked awfully thin. "May I talk to you?" She asked her friend. She nodded and they walked into the forest. "What is it?" Mouseseed asked. Dewleaf sighed "can I come to the moon pool tonight?" She asked. Mouseseed stopped "what?" She asked "but you are only a warrior!" DewLeaf nodded "I know, that's why I did not want to go at half, moon" she paused "I just, have been having dreams lately" she started you describe her dreams, and the vision off the giant bird. Mouseseed nodded, "if I could, I would let you." She stopped and looked around for a moment "how about we ask Grasspelt?" Dewleaf asked another question , "is she sick?" Mouseseed shook her head "no, just old"
They walked into the medicine den. Grasspelt shook her head as she asked her about going to the moon pool "you won't even be able to dream" she said "but why? Why do you want to go?" Dewleaf looked at the floor and explained the dreams and visions again. Grasspelt looked off into what seemed to be the distance. "I went tell you" she said "I promised, go ask your mother instead" Dewleaf left the den, startled. She rushed out too the forest. It was already sun high, but she knew FlameFeather was still out.She almost ran into her as she raced across the forest. "Woah, what is it?" She asked "what's wrong Dewleaf?" She explained what hastened in the morning. Then her dreams. "The bird was huge" she said "and there was this cat, cashed night and this other one called grass. One was gray and another talon" she finished. FlameFeather shook her head "I don't want to tell you"
Dewleaf was surprised "why not?" She asked. Her mother sighed and clawed at the ground. "You most promise,'m little Dew, to not feel different" Dewleaf squinted, she hated when her mother called her little Dew. "I promise" she said. FlameFeather looked her in the eyes. "Do you know of the mountains?" She asked. Dewleaf shrugged, "of course" she replied looking at the sharp peaks far away. FlameFeather nodded, "there was once a tribe there, w-they had different customs and lived in a cave, behind a water fall" she paused "they were fine, but the water fall stopped flowing. They're protection and food soon disappeared" Dewleaf shrugged "what does this have to do with me?" She asked. FlameFeather looked off into the distance "I wasnt always FlameFeather you know" she breathed in "I was a part of the tribe"
