"So this is what hope feels like"

Your despair-filled cries filled the room as you saw Junko being killed.

You were slowly being killed.

Suddenly, Sayaka, Leon, Chihiro, Mondo, Kiyotaka, Celeste, Hifumi, Sakura, and Mukuro were walking out of a room, looking confused and disgruntled.

"W-what?"

Makoto was the first to speak. Hr shared the same thoughts as all. Everyone's memories came flooding back, and everyone was again filled with hope.

Except for you. You weren't rejoicing. Togami joined your side and watched the merrymaking going on.

"(Y/N) don't lose hope. You'll meet her again somewhere, someday"

You slapped him hard. He was implying she was dead!

"She isn't dead!"

Togami looked at you with a mixture of hurt and anger. You stormed away.

You found the room where Junko had been staying in all this time. You ran your hand on all the things you saw. Her essence.

You got out that keychain she gave you. It was black and gold still, not of the color had worn off. You held it up, and it glinted in the light. And in the corner of your eye, something else glinted in the same way. You averted your eyes to the direction of the light and saw hers.

Her knife was almost exactly the same, but differed in color. Hers was white, lined with silver.

"Junko..."

Under the keychain was a letter, with your name.

You opened it, and gasped at the contents.

Dear sweet (Y/N),

I thought that despair would set me free. All these years, I thought that the world was a ball of gases and water and rock that ceased to hold any purpose to anyone. All these years, I thought that people were incapable of true love. But if you have found this letter, that ceases to be true. You see, your knife I gave you that day holds a lot of secrets. It kept you from forgetting about yourself and the others. And it was the answer, the key rather, to finding this letter. You kept the knife, and it isn't just any ordinary knife. It proved to be something special to you.

So you see, I didn't really allow them to be killed. Just as the act waa being done, I sent dummy models of them to the scene, and drugged the real people. The dummies were specially programmed by me to predict how those people would have died, and they were connected to the real person's mind.

As for me, I guess I will give hope a chance. After seeing the despair in your eyes, it hurt to see you like that. I decided that you look better filled with hope, rather than despair. You can find me in the trash room. Grab the keys from Kyoko. Love ya!

~Junko

And you did just that. Hurriedly, you grabbed the keys from Kyoko, and ran to the trash room. There, Junko was sitting, counting.

"540...541...542"

She looked up to see you, sweating and panting, but with a big smile on your face. You both ran to each other and hugged.

"Not bad (Y/N). Nine minutes"

And you did something unexpected.

You kissed Junko. And Junko gladly reciprocated.

"You didn't know how much despair you put me through," She said.

...

"Togami, don't be rude. Toko isn't that bad. She's really a great writer!" You chided. Togami shook his head.

"Hell no. That's as bad as sending me to hell," Togami said, pushing his eyeglasses back up.

"Awww Togamiiiii pleaseeeee. You'd be so cute together. Well, not as cute as (Y/N) and I but, close enough," Junko said, carelessly munching on some chips.

It's been years since that dreadful event. 10 years to be exact. The world had gone back to normal, thanks to Junko's cooperation. Everyone forgave Junko for what she had done, and some weren't even mad at her, merely amazed at her intelligence in what she had done.

Towacity never fell to despair again.
