“Why wouldn’t he call me?” Liam sighed checking his phone for the trillionth time. It had been two days now. Two full days.
“I don’t know mate.” Zayn shrugged putting his hand on Liam’s shoulder in comfort. It did little to comfort Liam, only offered up the reminder of how much he wished that was Niall holding him, comforting him, loving him. Zayn removed his hand as if a shock reached its way to his fingers forcing him to let go of Liam.
“I’ve called him countless times, and nothing. Absolutely nothing in return.” Liam groaned.
“Maybe you need to go to the source.” Zayn suggested. Liam looked at him unsure.
“What go to Ireland?” Liam asked hesitantly, mulling the idea over in his mind. He bit his lip as he thought.
“Why not?”
“I can’t just invite myself to Ireland!” Liam complained.
“Bro, don’t act like you don’t want to go. Niall will love the surprise.”
“I could catch a plane and spend the last few days of vacation over there with him.” Liam thought out loud processing the information in his head. Zayn sat back watching happily. “Well I’d have to get a ticket.”
“Already on in brother.” Zayn said as he typed on his laptop frantically. “There, you leave in a few hours!”
“What? No I can’t leave now.” Liam said hysterically a hint of a smile on his lips.
“Why not?” Zayn asked as he slapped him on the back. “Come on, I’ll help you pack.”
Liam followed him excitedly as he thought about finally seeing Niall, it was happening finally. Today he would fall hard into his chest sinking into his strong arms. A smile crept on his face as he daydreamed about their reunion kiss.
He looked at his phone in his hand the cursor blinking, taunting him, as he failed for formulate the words. Frustrated he closed the phone throwing it down on his bed as he flopped down beside it, head buried in his pillow screaming into it, the sound of his yells muffled like a silencer to a gunshot.
Why is this so difficult Niall thought to himself as the door knocked quietly jarring him from his daydreaming.
“Huh?” Niall grunted from his pillow cover lips.
“Baby, come on out there are some people here to see you!” Maura spoke happily through the door.
A few moments later Niall emerged from his room slipping his phone into his pocket as he walked the old hallways of his childhood home. The house remained the same, he remained the same but now everything around him was different and maybe it was childish but he wished that things would return to what they were.
Walking around the corner to the kitchen Niall bumped into his best friend Sean, a dark brunette haired boy with a crooked smile.
“Oh hey mate!” Niall smiled pulling him into a hug.
“Cheers bro! Two weeks of and I’m just now seeing you?” Sean laughed tossing him a beer bottle from the ice chest beside the counter. Niall smiled shrugging as he took a pull of the beer letting the liquid swim around his mouth.
“I don’t know brother, it’s be hectic. I was trying to go low key.” Niall explained.
“Well you don’t get to be low key tonight my friend.” Sean laughed.
“What do you mean?” Niall asked curiously.
“Everyone is coming over in like an hour mate. Your mom called us all, said you needed a proper homecoming see.”
