The reception takes place in a little hall we rented down the street from my childhood rink. It was elegant, a little vintage but I know Annabelle would appreciate the history. We walk in hand and hand as she cuddles up close to me. "Are you cold" I ask. "A little" she admits. I shed my jacket and place it around her beautiful dress, I'm happy my grandma insisted she wore it. She looked stunning. "Thanks" she smiles. "No problem, Mrs. Panarin" I say causing her to giggle. "I love that sound of that" she admits. "Yeah, me too" I agree. We sit down around a big table big enough to fit everyone and eat. I was surprised everyone loved the traditionally Russian food. It was going to be a short reception, but we all needed to be back home soon for whatever reason and the plane would be leaving not too long from now. Of course we had a little music and dancing first, because who doesn't love those two things. It wouldn't be a wedding without it. Soon enough it comes time to do the first dance and I tell the DJ what to play. The chords start and Annabelles face lights up, she knew what it was instantly. "I love this song" she exclaims wrapping her arms around my neck. "I know you do. It reminds me of you" I admit. She's been all over the Ed Sheeran album since it came out and this was her favorite song. Luckily for me it was perfect for a first dance.

"Baby, I'm dancing in the dark, with you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favourite song
When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath
But you heard it, darling, you look perfect tonight."

We sway back and fourth and I try my best to sing to her. She laughs when I stumble on the words but sings along with me. It felt like we were back at home just enjoying each other, messing around without a care in the world. I look into those impossibly blue eyes and fall in love all over again. Each day I'm excited because I get the honor to spend yet another day with the best girl in the world. She's not perfect, but she's perfect for me. I know she's hard on herself, she expects a lot from herself and those around her, it's inevitable she would have some problems but I wanted to be her solution. I wanted to be that answer to all her deepest questions. She let me in and what I saw was beautiful. Like a colorful meadow with a water fall creating its own rainbow. A perfectly painted picture that she saw in black and white. Now finally she's seeing what I see in her, and now I have the rest of my life to remind her how special and beautiful and important she is.

"We are still kids, but we're so in love
Fighting against all odds
I know we'll be alright this time
Darling, just hold my hand
Be my girl, I'll be your man
I see my future in your eyes"

From this day on it's just her and I. I mean it's always been her and I, but now it's on paper. I got a girl who can support herself along with the most prized people in Chicago. Not a person who meets her can deny that there isn't anyone else out there like her. She's really something and I have the honor to watch her do what she loves best. Every passing second I'm more and more proud of what she's accomplished. How she's touched people's lives and will never take credit for anything. How she will give until she can give no more, it's amazing. She's such a advocate for love and passion and power and I feel blessed to have someone like that even in my life, let alone to be able to call her mine. I can't help but imagine a bright future together. Raising kids, going to school plays or whatever they kids desire. Then when they ask how their mom and I got together I can tell them like it was a Disney movie, how she was my knight in shining armor sweeping me off my feet and showing me what life is really about. I know she likes to think I help her a lot but it's quite the opposite. Until she was in my life I didn't know a lot about much, but she's taught me everything in need to know and more. All that matters is that she's right beside me.

"I have faith in what I see
Now I know I have met an angel in person
And she looks perfect
I don't deserve this
You look perfect... tonight"

The song ends ands she lifts her head from my chest. I take no time placing a kiss on her lips because I missed the feeling of her lips on mine. I remind her how she was always beautiful in my eyes. How she is my purpose and my hope. That I really don't know what I did to end up with such a amazing girl, but I must be doing something right. "I love you so much" she whispers. "I love you too baby" I smile. Eventually it comes time to fly back. We say goodbye to my grandparents and thank them for everything. "Hope to see you guys soon! We're going to miss you" my grandpa says. "We'll miss you too. I'm sure we'll see you soon, hopefully with the cup next time" I smile. "I would like that" he admits. We get everything and everyone on the plane but I make sure my wife isn't stolen from me this time. "This has been the most surreal and best hours of my life. Thank you for doing this" she says. "Thanks for being so incredible that I want to do stuff like this for you. It was a honor planning this and I'm glad you liked it" I admit. "I loved it. And I love you" she claims. With that we head home as the happiest couple in the world.
