"What?" You all exclaim. Matt watches you with a sheepish look on his face. "Wait, if your a virus, why would you want to help us?" Nate asks. "See, that's the thing," Matt says, scratching the back of his neck. "I'm not a virus." Your jaw drops. Sean stands up straight in shock. Nate stares. "What?" Mark says again. Matt looks nervously at the door, then begins his explanation.

"They never infected my computer. They have absolutely no way of making a virus of me," he starts. "But that's what they thought about me," you argued. "Yes, but they had your computer files," Matt says. "They don't have mine. So, before they had the chance, I stepped in. I had to get some information so I told them that I was a virus that had been roaming the computer for a while. They were too busy working on Void to notice." "Wait, what about that stuff you injected me with?" You ask.

Matt winced. "Yeah, that was the only flaw I overlooked," he continued. "They wanted me to do some pretty bad stuff. And that included torturing you." You need a minute. Sean steps in with, "So you endagered one of our friends just so you could gather information?" "Come on, Matt," Nate says. "I mean, I get that's what you do, but seriously?" Matt holds up a finger. "You didn't let me finish." He turns back to you. "I only injected one harmful substance into you, and even now, it's out of your system. The rest of the needles contained coloured water. Placebos."

You gape at him. "But, I don't understand," you say. "Some of them hurt more than the rest." Matt gives a sheepish smile. "Yeah, I had to mix some of the water with salt," he admits. "Why?!" You ask. "Because they were watching me," Matt says. "That's the only reason that I even tried to hurt you. I never would have done it if they weren't watching me through the cameras."

"Cameras?" You both turn to Sean. He and Mark share the same confused expression. "They've never used cameras before," Mark says. "What do you mean? Why does it make a difference?" Nate asks. Sean and Mark begin to look a little worried. "They're changing," Sean says. "That's making them less predictable, which means, we have no idea what their next moves are." Mark shifts. " That's probably why we didn't expect Void, especially, since (y/n)'s fandom never really established a 'dark side' for her."

Now you're getting a little nervous. "(Y/n)." You turn and look at Matt. "You have to talk to Void." "What? What good would that do?" You ask. Sean, Nate, and Mark glanced at Matt, also eager to hear what he had to say. "From what I've observed, she's only a few hours old," Matt explained, "All she knows is what the other viruses have told her. If you talk to her, she might think differently." You think for a minute, then ask,"Why me?" "You are the real version of her. If she's goingto listen to anyone, it would be you."

You start to think about the pros and cons of that suggestion, but your mind is stumped. "He's got a point," Sean comments. "It may be our only option," Mark says. "I don't know enough about this to give an opinion, so I won't," Nate puts in. You think for maybe a minute longer, then say, "Where is she?"
