Fang's POV:
I didn't have time to count my dead, or the other side's dead. I just kept fighting the men and women I knew weren't mine. Shouts and gunfire and the sound of swords clashing and bodies falling didn't faze me as I continued fighting. Both sides were thinning out, but there were more paranormal beings seeping out of the forest to help the other side or feed on the dead. Then we scattered as the trolls started arriving, killing vampires, werewolves, and men in their wake. Both armies killed one or two before fully evacuating the area, running in different directions on commands. We finally stopped near a pond and I did a headcount. We were 67 soldiers short, I ordered some people to start treating the wounded and a few others to start handing out food and purifying water from the pond. The troops I'd sent out to the west arrived, they were 84 warriors short. They started helping my men and women, I counted the wounded soldiers and helped patch and clean their wounds. The troops from the South side arrived a few hours after we set off out smoke signals. We quickly put the fire out. James only had 12 warriors missing since the vampires and werewolves were mostly focused on Emma and I. I hugged my brother tightly, and he hugged back. Nobody else stared because they were doing the same with their brothers, sisters, and lovers. We wouldn't last long, but at it was too late to turn back.
Eragon's POV:
I was disappointed I couldn't go out and fight, but Edward had went out, promising to kill a few for me. I was feeding Alyssa, ignoring the pains of the vampire soldiers that fell. Stan was watching me, grinning. "Will it be my turn soon, M'lady?" He asked. I giggled, trying to shut out the pains of the warriors, which were getting worse and more frequent. Alyssa finally finished and burped, and Stan laid her down in her crib before kissing me deeply. I relaxed as his lips met mine, and savored his taste for as long as possible before having to breathe. I gasped as he pinned me to the bed and kissed me again, a lot rougher this time. He shoved his tongue into my mouth and I purred softly, rubbing up against him as we wrestled for dominance. It helped keep my mind off the pain, until he pulled away. "I shouldn't be doing this, you just gave birth not too long ago..."
"Cuddles...?" I asked, tilting my head.
"We can do that." He crawled into the bed beside me and pulled me onto him. I laid my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat and purring. Stan rubbed my sides and I purred softly. He bit my ear and I moaned, unable to control it. His purring got louder, he started kissing on my neck, I moaned even louder when he bit it. He wrapped his arms around my chest, I started to hear the footsteps of several guards running down the hall and flinched. The only thoughts that ran through my head at that moment were of Edward. The longer I thought the more upsetting the thoughts became. 'What if he doesn't make it out?' 'Is he hurt badly?' 'What if...' "Wh...what if I never see him again....?" I wondered, this time aloud. I looked at Stan, he kissed the top of my head. "He will be okay, Eragon..." He said, I caught the uncertainty in his voice. The pains of the soldiers was stronger this time. "Stan, don't freak out, but I'm going into 'shut down mode'... I'll be back to reality in a few hours..." With that, I blacked out and entered my own world.
