"Huh? What do you mean?"
"As I said, are you worried about Guren~?"
"I couldn't care less."
"Haha. You're not honest, are you?"
"..." Mikan didn't bother to reply and sat on a bench nearby.
"Say, Mī-chan, when will you show me one of your spell techniques?" He asked with a smile, taking a seat beside her.
Despite expressing her clear dislike towards him, Shinya was unfazed and kept pestering her like this these past days. At some point, she let him do as he wanted. She couldn't get used to be called by that nickname though—it felt strange. It was likely that he came up with it on a whim and yet for some reason, she had a feeling that it might had to do with a certain ashen haired girl.
"......" Mikan stayed silent as usual.
"If you face against me right now, surely you would've to show one or two of your abilities, right? So how about a spar?"
"No way." It would just attract more unwanted attention. Although, she wondered if she could win against someone from the top clan.
"Ah-haha. I knew you would say that." Shinya laughed in delight. "I would like to try out Guren's strength first, though."
The brunette was also intrigued about how strong Guren had become. After all, that moron had only let himself to be beaten up until now, not that she could approach him about it. Ever since she met his gaze at the school gates, it felt like there was an invisible line between them, which she didn't dare to cross, neither did he.
In that moment, Goshi shouted, interrupting her thoughts.
"I'll kill you!!"
"Try me!" A red-haired girl replied. It was Jūjō Mito.
Mikan stared at both of them, who soon started to fight each other. It seemed that both were provoking each other a few minutes ago. Instead of stopping them, the teacher told the students to make observations of this fight or learn from them.
Then, she noticed that Shinya had walked towards Guren.
"Hey~. It has been hard for you to put up an act of getting hit."
Not giving a reply, Guren just glanced at Shinya and turned his eyes to the fight of Mito and Goshi, searching for something useful to learn from the two who were at the pinnacle of Hīragi sorcery. Shinya went to his side.
"With your level, you can't learn anything from watching them, right?"
"......."
"I've been watching you for the past ten days, and you seem pretty good at taking hits in a way that would avoid sustaining damage, but yet, being blown away so flashily—"
"Are you stalking me? Stop looking at me." Guren cut him off.
"Ah-haha." Shinya laughed. "No, but I'd really love to know the real strength of my future comrade—"
"I'm not your comrade."
"Well, well, why don't we spar a bit? I think it's time to show me your real strength, Guren."
Shinya unfolded his arms and aimed his fist to Guren.
In an instant, everyone's attention turned to them. Even Mito and Goshi stopped fighting. That was how much attention Shinya had in this school since his strength was a head above the crowd. After all, in the first paired match, Shinya defeated Goshi with just one hand.
