"So how was hanging out with the shadow knights?" I ask politely. "It was fun. They're surprisingly nice!" She giggled. "Uh huh, I have a hard time believing that." I grumble. "Oh come on, there not that bad. At least gene came an apologized to you." Shadow defended. "Ok ok, your right. I wasn't expecting him to do that." I answer raising me hands up. Shadow giggles. "Come on, we have to practice for tomorrow!" Shadow yells running to the piano. "Ok I'm coming..."
                          
~The Next Day At The Competition~
                          
"You nervous?" I ask. "A little." Shadow replies shaking. "Don't worry you'll be fine." I say patting her back. "Yeah, your right!" She shouts jumping around. "Haha, ok well we better get ready, it's going to start soon." I say grabbing her hand and dragging her with me. Me and shadow are going up 2nd. We watch the first performance. "Wow there good!" Shadow squeals. "Yeah, don't worry we'll be fine." I reassure. "Next up is (Y/n) and Shadow!" The announcer announced. We walk up and get ready. We can do this... (play the song no lyrics this time. I want you to listen to the music and there's stuff that happens during the music so just imagine the music playing in the back. All of my friends are busy today and I'm getting bored. "Mom I'm going for a walk." I yell walking out the door. "Where to go? Hmmm...whatever I'll go to the park." I say. As I walk to the park I notice a group huddled. Then I hear singing. "Um excuse me what's going on over there?" I ask a lady. "Oh well there is a singing competition going on. You should check it out young man." The lady says cheerfully. "Thanks." I mumble, I continue walking and I can hear the voice much clearer. But why does it sound so familiar? "Hmm who's singing?" I ask myself. "Oh well that young man is (Y/n) (L/n), and her sister Shadow (L/n) on piano." A man says randomly. "(Y/n)!!?" I shout. "Yep, do you know her?" The man curiously asks. "Uh yeah she goes to my school." I respond now getting a good look at the singer who is indeed (Y/n). "Lucky, back where she came from. She was a legend. Best singer in her City. Until she moved for unknown reasons." The man exclaims dramatically.

"We had to move because of our sister angel, after she died, our dad got arrested. And we just couldn't stay in that city anymore."

"Oh." I mumble. I walk a little closer. I don't want her seeing me. Once close enough where I could see her closer, I stand near a tree and just listen to her sing. Lovely. What was that?! Don't ignore it. You know what. I don't know what's happening. Just listen. I lean against a tree and listen, she does have a great voice. (Read next part when song is done). She finished singing and everyone starts to clap and cheer. She grabs shadows hand and they bow. I clap not too loud, I look at shadow and she sees me there. She looks confused then she looks at (Y/n). (Y/n) looks at her, shadow starts talking but I can't tell what she's saying. Then shadow points to me, and (Y/n) looks over and sees me leaning against a tree, she just waves and I wave back.

I finished singing and everyone started cheering and clapping. I run over to shadow, grab her hand and take a bow with her. Shadow looks at something then turns to me and says "I think lover boy was listening." She smirks and points. I look over and see gene. Wave to him, you know you want to. I ignore the voice but I do wave to him, he waves back and just stays where he is. After we're done getting through crowds and stuff me and shadow go say hi. "Hey Gene what's up?" I ask. "Sup lover boy?" Shadow says holding back a laugh. "Why you- grrrr." He growls at shadow. "Were you listening to us?" I ask with a curious look on my face. "I think you mean to say was he listening to you?" Shadow grins. "Stop that. And yes I was. You 2 are pretty good." He compliments. "A compliment? From YOU?!" I exclaim surprised. "Yeah yeah laugh it up." He says rubbing his neck. "Well I'll let you to talk while I go find mom." Shadow says running away. "You little- heh heh heh she is so dead." I mumble. "Heh, well uh do you maybe wanna hang out some time?" He asks casually. "Your not gonna black mail me this time?" I giggle. "Haha very funny. No I'm not!" He pouts. "Awe someone is a little grumpy." I pout In a baby voice. "Shut up. And you never answered my question." He grumbles. "Yeah sure why not, as long as it is just as friends." I confirm. "Friends?" He says puzzled. "Look Gene I know we've had our issues but let's just start over. Ok?" I say cheerfully. "Yeah, ok. So yeah just as friends." He confirms. "Also no more bullying me or my friends got it?" I question raising my eyebrow. "Yep." He says smiling. "You know that's the first time I've ever seen you actually smile!" I exclaim. "Is that bad? I am human. I can smile." He states. "I know it's just different, you should smile more often it suits you better than that tough guy act." I explain to him. "I don't know, maybe..." he says rubbing his neck. "Anyway I'll talk to you later." I say. "Uh yeah oh wait do you maybe want my phone number so we can talk sometime?" He asks nervously. "Yeah sure!" I squeal. We exchange numbers. "Ok bye." Gene says. "Bye Gene!" I cheerfully say. "Oh wait." I say. He turns around. "Wha-" "thank you." I mumble giving him a hug. "U-uh your welcome." He stutters. "Goodbye Gene." I giggle and walk away. MUAHAHAHAHAHA SUFFER AS YOU WATCH YOURSELF GET CLOSER AND CLOSER WITH GENE!!! I'm truly evil. That's the end of chapter 9 and things are getting hot!! Remember there is a reason everything happens so don't go thinking that I changed this story into a gene x Reader because I didn't. It is still Laurence x Reader.
