Toews's POV
                          
I messed up. I know that. Kaner hadn't talked to me since I pissed of Lani forever. I knew Lani would never forgive me, I don't deserve her forgiveness. So instead, I threw myself into hockey. I train, play, and go home, drink away my feelings for Lani and repeat. I know I shouldn't/can't drink but fuck Captain Serious. Management knew something was wrong between Kaner and I, but it wasn't affecting our record yet so they didn't touch it.
                          
When I broke me hand in Winnipeg she was there for me, and I fucked up again. Not having Kaner was hard, no chirps, no smelly hair, no girl advice (though it sucked.) But the unreadable looks he gave me when we were in the locker room, when he smiled at his phone or jumped at the chance to go to the pro-shop, thats what bothered me. That he still talked to Lani.
                          
After the game, Sharpie asked me to go out with him, I didn't even hear him ask me I was too focused on Kaner; who was quickly whispering into his phone. Loudly enough so I could hear. "Its ONE fucking game. Just come. What's stopping you?" ... "Ya well it hurts me too, but I have no choice." ... "Yes everyday, but it would fuck our relationship up more than it already is." ... "Please!!!!!" ... "I'm coming over, we need to talk you can't leave me!" 
                          
He threw his phone into his locker and ran to the showers.
                          
"Captain Serious?" Sharpie waved his hand in front of my face. "He told me about her, you fucked up."
                          
"No shit Sharp."
                          
"Dude don't bite my pretty head off. Just know that what you're thinking. Is. Not. Happening. He may not talk to you anymore but he still cares about you, he still asks about you. And he knows that know matter what kind of horrible shit you said to her, you still care about her."
                          
"Sharpie, I just don't care about her--"
                          
"No don't say it Toews. Not 'til you mean it." He said kindly.
