Chapter 11. MacDonald's & Secrets

Its now midnight, I woke up about an hour ago when I heard something fall, turns out it was my phone.
                          
Dads still not home, so I do the most dumbest thing ever, I go into his room. He doesn't even like it when I walk past it.
                          
I grab the door handle and twist it open, pushing the door open, I try to be quiet, even though dads not home you still can't be to careful.
                          
I go to his closet, I remember being a kid and running in here just when my dad was hiding a box in the closet.
                          
Lets just say he was extremely pissed at me, but he didn't hurt me since I was still a child.
                          
I dig at the bottom part of the closet and find the box, with shaky hands I slide it out.
                          
I feel nervous, but I don't know why.
                          
I open the lid and set it down next to me. I peer inside the box and that's when something inside me drops.
                          
Letters, and pictures fill the box, I pick up this one picture with this woman with fiery red hair, she's holding a baby and then there's a boy with brown hair and blue eyes.
                          
This is a picture of my mother, Fletcher and me. I place the picture in my lap and grab two letters that stand out.
                          
One letter has my name written on it and the other has Sorry written on it.
                          
I put them in my lap with the picture, just when I was putting the lid back on, something caught my eye.
                          
I pick up the silver bracelet, there was four charms already on. The first charm was a cradle, the second a panda, the third a letter 'f' and the fourth was a bow.
                          
I grab the bracelet and slide the lid back on the box which I slide back into the closet.
                          
I grab the things I had taken from the box and make my way back to my room.
                          
When I sit on my bed and place the things from the box down. I look to my lit up phone. I have a message, from Derek.
                          
You're still up?
                          
How does he know that? Oh meh gosh, maybe he's a spy! just like spy kids!!
                          
How'd you know that? Are you a spy?
                          
After I press the send button, I get comfy and lay the letters and pictures out, the charm bracelet by the photo.
                          
No, I went to Mcdonalds and drove past, I seen your light on :)
                          
Wait, I look at my clock to see it had just turned 12:30am. I message him back.
                          
You went to Mcdonalds? At 12:30? 
                          
Before I set my phone back down it buzzes again, wow he's a fast texter.
                          
I was hungry, and I really wanted a big mac :)
                          
At the mention of food my stomach growls, I think I'll always be hungry and I didn't have dinner. Dad didn't get any food so I've been living off my gummy bears.
                          
That sounds good, I wish I had a big mac :'(
                          
I set my phone down after sending him a message back. I hide the things from dads room in my bottom drawer.  
                          
Lets just hope dad doesn't notice the things gone. My phone lights up and dings, signalling that I got a message.
