"Marcus will Pick you up from Lisa's house after the game today" I told Noah while I served her breakfast.
"You are not coming today?" Noah asked me a little confused.
"Yes, but I will be a little late and Marcus will pick you up from Lisa's" Lisa was Noah's little friend. She was the daughter of David the president of baseball operations for the Red Sox and his lovely wife Lauren.
It was mostly Marcus's idea for me to join the Maternity group, David had mentioned it to him and he thought it was a good idea, specially because he knew how scared I was with the whole thing.
The group was mostly full of couples but with David's job he traveled a lot and many times Lauren had to attend by herself as well.
Lisa was her second baby but according to Lauren the maternity groups were good so that you could see many other people had the same questions and doubts as you and others just had good advice. We had become really good friends, they don't live far from my house and our little girls have been friends since they were born and their son Lucas who was two years older was the cutest. Noah loved them and they were such a blessing because she could stay with them when I had to be out of town because of my job. Lauren was the best taking care of them and being the only friend that I had besides Marcus.
"Okay" She kept eating.
I called Lauren to let her know that Marcus was picking Noah up after Karate. She thought that something was wrong but I told her that Marcus wanted to spend some time with Noah.
I didn't want to lie to her but I had to get my business straight with Nolan before I could tell her. I was never really specific about Noah's dad I just told her that he was my High School sweetheart and that things got a little complicated, she never asked much about it because she knew that I still loved him and that not being able to be with him was painful.
Lauren was David's wife after all and I couldn't risk my job, players weren't allow to date staff and I don't really know what the rules were like for the other teams but me having a personal relationship with Nolan wouldn't be ideal for my boss at the moment or so I imagine.
I decided no to tell Lauren because I wasn't ready to let David know and I couldn't ask her to keep secrets from her husband.
"I hear the door bell ringing" I announced knowing that Noah was waiting for her friend.
"Lisa is here!!!!!!" Noah got up and ran towards the door.
"Noah, you haven't finish your breakfast" I said while I was walking towards the door.
"Good morning!" Lauren's cheerful voice greeted me.
"Good morning!" I kissed her on the cheek.
"Want to come in for coffee?" I asked. Lauren took a quit look at her watch.
"We have about half and hour, why not?" She smiled.
"Kids, get off!" Lauren yelled. A minute of so later I saw Lisa and Lucas walking towards us.
"Hello, kiddos!" I said when they reach us.
"Good morning Lexi" Lucas said. That little boy was the most well educated six years old kid that I had ever met. He was so well behave and always cared for his sister he was really nice to Noah as well. Lisa in the other hand said a quick hello and ran away with Noah.
"Those girls!" Lauren joked.
"Are they keeping secrets from us already?" I joked.
"Oh, they'll be sharing love letters from secret boyfriends very soon!" Lauren said.
