No more bullying.
Stop bullying.
Please spare me a minute; I just want to share my story when I got bullied for the #NoMoreBullying challenge.
Their main goal is get people out of the sidelines and into action.
I believe that we can stop people by bullying us and it should starts to ourselves.
I know some will say that yeah it was easy for me to say it but I've been there done that. Back when I was in high school, some of my classmates tease me by being blind. Yes, I was half blind. I lose my vision when I was around four years old and yes it's hard but with my family and friends around me, I never felt being out of place or should I say, I feel like a normal girl or just like the rest of the girls in my school. I feel complete. But then again, when I reach high school my teenage years, that's when things get a little hard for me. I have a classmates who doesn't stop teasing me about me being visually impaired, they are two boys and there are moments that I almost don't want to go to school anymore because I'm afraid that they will start teasing me again. It's really embarrassing and I felt crying every time they do that. I was really a shy girl back then. Don't get me wrong but I do have friends, it's just we are not really like the others who is so confident in front of everybody. They tease my friends too but not like mine.
Then it happens, I remember the two boys teasing me again by being blind in front of my crush. My crush just glare at them and told them to stop and believe me, at the moment I was a little bit happy and thought maybe they would finally stop teasing me because my crush is quite famous those days. The following days, they didn't stop and still keep on making fun of my eyes. I never told it to my parents because I was so embarrassed and that is my mistake. I knew I should have told them but I realized that it should start in me first. I've realized and asked myself, do I deserve this? NO. Because I need to be respected, everybody needs to be respected and be treated equally.
That night, I prayed to God to give me strength and courage to make things right.
The next day I went to school with my head up high, I'm not really the person who always on the corner if you know what I mean. I went to my circle of friends then that's when the boys showed up again and started teasing me. I turn to them with a smile and said.
"You know, I maybe blind but I am so much better than you, you know? I have friends, I have good grades, I have so many things and that's enough for me. I'd rather be blind like this than to be like you who have everything and yet worthless. (I said emphasizing the word worthless) so I suggest you stop teasing me because if you don't, I won't hold back anymore... " I said as I push them away. I hear my classmates cheered for me and from that moment, I felt so relief that I regret not doing it right from the start. I should have stopped it before, but its okay I'm still happy that I made a right choice for standing up for myself. I look to see my crush making my way to me with a smile and ruffle my hair and said; "You're cute when you do that." He said and I rolled my eyes as he passed me by. The moment he left, my friends and I won't stop giggling.
I can still remember that day, the day that when I made the right choice to stand for myself.
#NoMoreBullying
I'm sharing it to let people know how wrong it is to bully.
We need to do some action about it.
No one deserves it. We deserve to be respected and be treated equally. No matter who you are and what you are
Note:
No matter what, it's really important if you tell it to a responsible adult like your parents/guardian, teacher etc. It would really help a lot.
Thank You for the time.
And just a little info: Before that year ends, I remember them apologize to me. At the same time, It was also funny that they dance me on our prom.
We all learned our lessons in the end.
