Chapter 24

Talulah's Pov

"This fucker is your dad?" Masen's voice was low and had a dangerous edge to it, like he was about blow any second.

Talulah couldn't answer him. She was frozen. Her mind was screaming at her to run but her wolf was foaming at the mouth for a fight.

She felt Masen's hand squeeze her wrist hard and she tried to yank it back but he wouldn't let go.

"I asked if this fucker is your dad?" When she hesitated, he yelled at her. "Fucking answer me!" For the first time, she was scared of someone other than her father. Masen's face was blank with no emotions but his eyes, his green eyes were black with anger. Anger focused on her. He was squeezing her wrist too hard but she couldn't tell him, in case he yelled at her about that. Talulah swallowed hard at the raw fury on his face and nodded her head.

For a second she saw, pain? And then it was gone. He looked back at the man she once called her father and spoke to him quietly. The man just stared, not doing anything. Why was he here?

"You will leave right now. I have a whole pack waiting on my command and they will kill you before you know it. I'm giving you the choice to leave as you are not on the boundary line. But you are damn close to crossing the personal line." There was so much hatred  and bitterness laced in his words but Talulah didn't know what to do. She looked at the man in front of her and glared but couldn't hold it for long as she saw that sickly smile on his face. He was planning something. Something bad.

"Bye, Princess. I'll see you soon."

He left before she could say a word. His disgusting presence ruining the happy mood they were in.

"Come on. I need to alert the pack about this." His voice was flat and he didn't even look at her. Did she do something? Or was he worried about her? Is that why he was acting that way?

"Masen I-"

"Shut up! And just fucking walk!" Her mouth closed abruplty at the command and she hung her head, hiding the stinging tears. What did she do? Why was he angry with her? Why was he speaking like that with her?

Her wolf so badly wanted to come out and snap at him for ordering her.

Great. Now my Alpha blood decides to take control.

The whole way they were silent and Masen stayed ahead of her at all times. Every time she tried to catch up he moved faster until she stopped. What was the point anyway? He was obviously majorly pissed at something she did. But she didn't cry. She wouldn't cry in front of him.

When they reached the pack house, Masen went straight for his office. She didn't follow. Something happened right then when her father had appeared. But what?

She went to their bedroom and got into her pajamas. It wasn't time for bed but she needed to feel comfortable. There was a knock on the door and she told whoever was there to come in.

She didn't cry when James told her Masen was dealing with some heavy stuff.

She didn't cry when he told her that Masen was remembering the death of his family.

She didn't cry when he told her that her father was the man that killed her parents. Stupid bastard.

She didn't cry when he told her it wasn't her fault that he was in a bad mood, when it so obviously was.

She didn't cry when he told her Masen needed space to deal with it all.

She didn't cry when he said that, maybe it would be better if she slept in one of the guest bedrooms.

She didn't cry when Masen ignored her for the rest of the day.

She didn't cry when the rest of the pack sent her either pitying or hostile looks.

She didn't cry when the guys came up to her, before she went to bed in her new room, and hugged her tight.

But when she burrowed under the covers and hid her head under the pillow to muffle the sounds, she let out heart-wrenching sobs that wracked through her shaking body and cried for a future she so longed for. She cried for the love that would probably never exist anymore. She cried for the acceptance that was now lost. And she cried for the comfort and friendship she no longer had. She cried for the cycle that would begin all over again. But mostly she cried for how her past would never let her live again.

Next morning Talulah left before the others did. She didn't want ot face Masen. She knew she looked horrible. Crying all night did that and not being able to sleep. The nightmares had started again and it would be a long time before it stopped.

Masen was her solace. When she slept with him she felt safe. Now...she didn't know what to think. Would he break up with her? Did he realise she's the enemy's daughter? Did he hate her?

So many thoughts were running through her head but she decided not to linger on them. Talulah opted for comfort today rather than style and wore a hoodie two sizes bigger than her normal size and a pair of jeans. She would need to use the hoodie to hide her face. It was going to start all over again. When she looked in the mirror she couldn't believe what her life had come to. Was she always going to be judged by her past? Yes. Always yes. No one was ever going to look from that. They didn't want to and Masen...he was a whole different problem altogether. But she hoped against hell there was a chance for them. She didn't want to be the one to throw their relationship down the drain.

Talulah walked into the school building. It was completely quiet. Well it would be at 6:55 in the morning. A couple of students- humans, were standing around outside. Some smiled at her. She wondered how long that would last before rumours started spreading. She wondered how Masen would act towards her. She didn't have to wait for long because 15 minutes later Cody ran towards her and hugged her in relief.

"Thank God your safe. Why the hell did you go off so early? We were so worried!" Talulah looked up at him and stepped back.

"I needed to...I uh...I wasn't tired I guess. Excited for school." He wasn't convinced but he didn't say anything.

"Come on. I'm with you today." Talulah looked at him confused.

WIth me?

"I'm your buddy. You're not getting rid of me today." Talulah's heart warmed at the prospect that maybe Masen cared enough to send one of his guys to take his place for the day.

"Masen..." At the sorrowful look in his eyes, she knew it wasn't true and when she saw him enter the school grounds, ignoring her completely, her heart broke all over again.

"Talulah..."

"It's okay Cody. I'll get used to it." She left before he could stop her and ran to the girl's bathroom.

Why, God, why? Why are you doing this to me?

Don't you just hate Masen? I wanna kill him!!!! But he is needed in the story so I can't do that. =(

By the way, don't think Talulah is taking this lying down. She's confused and upset. Just wait please.
