Fang's POV:

The closer I got, the worse the situation looked. I pushed one of the men aside and analyzed the hunter's wound, which was just under the chest, a deep gash that stretched nearly all the way across the body, it was one of the older females that was normally a great fighter. I looked at the men, meeting the four youngest one's eyes, when a quiet white haired boy spoke. "It was me, I didn't mean to do it, I had just caught her off guard and-" I cut him off. "It's okay, kid. We've all almost killed our instructors before... Well, I almost did. C'mon." I picked up the woman, who identified as Selsa Camrenaro, the wound defiantly wasn't the worse I've seen, and she was still breathing. Yup. Not that bad despite the fact she was bleeding over everything. I walked to the infirmary, my clothes getting soaked in blood. The boy didn't talk much, but I knew what he was thinking.  When we got to the infirmary I briefly explained shat had happened, and left once I was sure Selsa wasn't in fatal condition.  I looked at the boy.  "Let's go for a walk in the woods, I don't have anything else to do anyways.  What's your name kid..?"
"Eli Manchester, sir."
"Call me Fang."

Nala's POV

I knew something was up somewhere between the Hunter camp and Emerald Forest.  I took two of my sons and my mate, Kal, with me.  I had a sick feeling in my stomach, something bad was going to happen, and I didn't know what.  We had came close to the border when I finally spoke up.  "We need to go.  Now..." Kal and the kids looked at me, questioning my last minute decision, when I heard human footsteps coming near us.  Kal snuck forwards defensively, looking back at the kids and I.  "Nala, Lance, Quip (kwip), run." He said, I knew what he was going to do, and my eyes widened.  "Nala, I know you're bearing puppies, it's better me than you!  Go!" He growled, Quip and Lance turned human and grabbed me before running back the way we came through, Lance took my full weight, I heard a gunshot and Kal's yelp, then the forest was still.  I buried my muzzle into Lance's chest, he smelt of fear and sadness too, but continued running back towards the village.

We finally got back to the village and Lance changed form.  He buried his muzzle in my fur, I felt Quip do the same.  "I..I'm sorry, boys..." I said, disappointed in myself as a mother and pack leader.  "It's okay, momma, it's okay." Quip said, he always understood everyone, Lance just sighed, I wrapped my tail around him. "Mom, we'll help you with the puppies.... When are you going to tell Hal and Olami (Oh-lam-ie)?" Lance asked after a long silence. "When they get back from their hunt." I replied, licking both boys on the head.
