It had taken a bit longer because of the snow but the Sports Bar was finally complete. I knew the job was going to be tedious but I was more than happy with the outcome and so was Bishop. He was so happy once he saw the final product that he lifted me off of my feet when he hugged me, literally. He was like a big kid as he ran from room to room checking out everything.

Jayson was out of town doing what he did best but Bishop told me that he was keeping him updated with pictures. I hadn't seen Jayson since our catch up dinner but he had no problem using my number. He would text me from time to time with a good morning or a goodnight or ask how my day was going. We even talked on the phone, it started off as him asking on an update for the bar but we stayed on the phone for close to two hours talking about everything but the bar. I honestly

looked forward to hearing from him.

Bishop was working on staff to hire and working on the website and so I introduced him to Franklin. Franklin is a graphic designer and he was amazing at what he did so I knew something like this would be a piece of cake for him. Plus Bishop had promised him some good money so that was a plus.

This morning the mail man personally delivered me a priority mail envelope. Inside were two check, both with my name. One was for 15,000 and the other was double that. I expected 10,000, that was the fee that we agreed upon from the beginning. Plus the extra 5,000 for the décor that I hadn't paid off yet but that still didn't account for the 30,000 check in here with my name on it as well.

I immediately got on the phone and called Bishop but he wasn't any help. He told me that he put up the 15,000 dollars but the other check must have been from Jayson. I looked at the signature and indeed it was.

"Jayson told me that I should be expecting a call about this," it sounded like he found this funny, "Jayson told me that you should consider that a bonus for all your hard work and you deserve it. Between school and being here every chance you could to make sure the employees were doing what they needed to do."

I figured the best thing to do was to call Jayson next.

"Your coming to our grand opening right," he asked

"I didn't know I was invited."

"Of course your invited. Once everyone see's what you did with the place you'll be the star of the night. Plus I'm sure Jayson would love to see you there."

Bishop had been throwing Jayson's name around a lot lately and I figured it was because Jayson had filled him in on our past history. He wasn't slick, him and Alicia were one in the same it felt like.

"Oh and you should of tuned into ESPN this morning, Jayson did and interview and shouted you out."

"What do you mean shouted me out?"

"He told everyone about the bar. He didn't say your name but he did say the name of your company so if your business phone starts blowing up you'll know why. I got to go but I will give you the details about the grand opening once I know the date."

After I got off the phone with Bishop I pulled up my messaging app and decided to send Jayson a text.

We need to talk Jayson. Call me when you get a chance.

It only took him a minute to text back.

If it's about the money we have nothing to talk about its yours and your free to do what you want with it. Open up your office space we talked about, splurge on something nice, donate it to charity... Just consider it a bonus for all your hard work.

I didn't even bother to text him back, instead I got dressed so I could head to the bank. I was still conflicted about the money that he gave me and didn't know what to do. I already had money saved towards my office so honestly the money that he gave me wasn't necessary.
