Vic paced the hallway, his hands behind his back as he walked back and forth, back and forth. He was terrified, once they had gotten back from the rogue's, Austin and Vic had taken their mates straight to the pack doctor's to get looked at. Alan was fine, but Kellin... not so much.
"Vic he's in surgery, he's going to be okay," Austin said quietly, his own mate's head resting in his lap, fast asleep and still in major pain. He was covered in bruises, his hands wrapped in gauze from where he had grabbed the silver bars of the cage, his hands still severely burned.
"How long though? Shouldn't he be healed by now? I mean wh-what's going on?" Vic asked, trying his best to not stress any more than he already was.
"I don't know Vic, they were both hurt pretty bad, Alan's still not healed," Austin said as he ran his fingers through his sleeping mate's hair slowly. "Just calm down, Justin would alert you if anything happened. Kellin's going to be fine, just fine."
Vic groaned and hit his head against the wall as hard as he could, wanting nothing more than to just be with his sweet little mate. Kellin was in pain, and the baby, how was the baby? Was Kellin okay? What was going on? Just as these thoughts ran through the Alpha's mind, the pack doctor stepped out to speak to Vic.
"What's going on? Is he okay? What's wrong with him?" Vic demanded as soon as he sensed Justin walk in the room.
"He's fine, everything is healing just like it should but there is one problem," Justin said nervously. "We need to hurry but I'm going to have to perform an emergency C-section. The baby won't make it if we don't remove him now." He said and Vic's heart stopped.
"Wha-what's wrong with the baby?" He questioned, all he could hear was a pounding in his ears, Russet letting out a protective growl in his mind. Something was wrong with his baby, his son was hurt.
"The cord somehow has gotten wrapped around his neck, his heartbeat has slowed down significantly and if we don't get him out now there's a good chance that he will be still born when born."
"But isn't it still early? T-two more months?" Vic said, he didn't know what to do, Hunter would be born a whole two months early, that couldn't possibly be good.
"It's risky but his Alpha genes will push through and help him develop a lot faster," Justin said and had the Alpha follow him back where Vic found his mate lying on a hospital bed.
"He's still under but there's a good chance that Luna Fuentes will awaken when I make the cut," Justin said and instructed Vic to take his mate's hand. Vic quickly grabbed Kellin's hand and squeezed it tight, kissing the back of it softly.
"Okay, I'm going to make the cut now," Justin said quietly.
Kellin groaned, feeling like absolute death when he felt it. It was like a zipper, slowly sliding across his stomach.
"W-what's go-going on?" He slurred tiredly, feeling like a ton of bricks were lying on top of him.
"It's okay Kells, I'm right here," Vic said quietly, still holding Kellin's hand. It sounded like he was in a tunnel far away, Kellin attempted to open his eyes but it was impossible. As if someone had glued them shut.
"Relax Luna Fuentes, everything is going to be okay, in fact, it's going to be even better than okay," Justin told him as he pulled the baby out of his Luna carefully. "And let me be the first to say, congratulations Luna Fuentes, you have a healthy baby boy."
Vic let out a breathless laugh as Justin picked up his son carefully and told his alpha to cut the cord. Vic did so and tied both sides off before the nurse set a blanket in his arms and the pack doctor laid the tiny pup in Vic's arms.
"Hi pup," Vic cooed, smiling down at his son. "Kells, open your eyes." He said softly, crouching down a little so that Kellin could see their baby. "Say hi to Hunter Pierce."
Kellin's eyes fluttered open and he smiled tiredly when he saw the face of his pup before him, "Hi Hunter." He rasped out, absolutely exhausted.
"Get some sleep Dear, I'm going to take good care of him okay?" Vic whispered, pressing a kiss to Kellin's slightly fevered forehead before he stood upright.
"Hey Vic," Kellin whispered, grabbing Vic's hand. "I love you an-and I'm sorry."
"Baby, you have nothing to be sorry for," Vic said, running his free hand through Kellin's hair. "Get some sleep, I love you too by the way." He informed his mate as Justin gave him a sedative that would get him to sleep before his power burned through the medication. A nurse took Hunter away from his father to get taken care of and Vic went out to where his best friend and his brother sat, waiting.
"Kellin just had a healthy boy." He said, trying not to cry from the happiness that now overwhelmed him. His mate was healthy and safe, he had a son who was going to grow to be tough and strong. Everything was perfect.
