David's POV:
It's December, and I'm thinking about starting to decorate for Christmas. Christmas is one week away. For myself? Oh heck no. I meant to help Liza decorate. If I decorated, Dom would probably make weed jokes about the Christmas tree, put weed on the Christmas tree, and then Bailey and Hailey would eat the weed, and then bad things would happen. And Alex probably won't talk to Dom ever again. So decorating for me is a really bad idea. Jason already ruined the decorations I did have up a couple days ago, but now they're in pieces and I don't want to spend $300 more dollars on decorating. Plus, it's too much work. I'm heading to Target to buy some tinsel and some wrapping paper. I also need to get Liza a Christmas present. What should I get her? I guess Target will answer my questions.
I went to Target, and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by huge supplies for Christmas. Ornaments, wrapping paper, Christmas trees, bows, and more. I grabbed some silver tinsel, a box of red and green ornaments, and silver wrapping paper. I headed further into the store to find a present for Liza. I decided on no jewelry. I'm not spending another couple hundred dollars for a little ring. I wanted something punny, and reminded her of us.
I looked through the aisles, smiling at all of the puns that she has made.
"A-spar-a-gus?"
"I don't find it very appealing..."
"My fava beans!"
"I don't like the way you roll, Todd. Well, I don't like the way you push me around, Jimin!"
"Liza, we should have a pillow fight!"
"Liza, you my nilla."
"Can we taco bell how cool that is?"
"What kind of candy is that? Look!"
I was completely focused on memories that I didn't even watch where I was going. I bumped into someone, and shook myself back to reality. "Sorry," Someone said. I looked at her in the eye and was surprised.
"Liza?"
"David?"
"What are you doing here?" We both asked at the same time. We laughed, and I pulled myself together first.
"I was buying Christmas decorations for you."
"Really? Well, good thing you bumped into me, because I have all of my Christmas decorations. But I do need help putting it together."
"Oh. I see." I went to go put the decorations back when I realized that I need to get Liza a present. "I guess I'll be lame." I murmured as I grabbed a Target gift card. It was $100, and instead of something big and fancy, I wanted to write her a card. As lame and as illiterate I was, I hope I could write a heartfelt note that maybe she could understand. For Christmas, I'll take her out to dinner, maybe even wear Christmas colors, that means red and green, and go on a nice date with her. I paid for the gift card, the wrapping paper, a blank card, and a fancy pen. I met up with Liza at the front of the store with the items in a sealed plastic bag.
"What's in the bag?" She asked. "I told you not to buy anything."
"Oh, this? I just need this for our home. No decorations in here."
"I see. Then do you want to drive home, drop that off, then head over to my house?"
"That sounds like a good idea." I agreed. "See you in 10 minutes."
I got in the Tesla, and safely tucked the gift in the front of the car. I drove home, listening to Christmas music the whole time, since that's all radio stations would play nowadays. I took the gift out once I got home, and put it carefully in my drawer, so no one else could see it. I walked over to Alex's room seeing that he was petting Bailey. Hailey was in her cage, and she was busy taking a sip of water.
"Hey." I said as I entered. Alex looked up. "Oh, hi."
"How's Bailey?"
"The greatest he could be. Instead of 5 months, he should be hopping around in 3."
"That's great!" I smiled. "Well, I gotta go."
"Ok. Bye!" I walked out of the apartment and arrived minutes later at Liza's place. I knocked on the door, and Liza answered almost immediately. I could tell she was sweating and was having trouble.
"Ok, I'm here now."
"Good. Help me with this tree!" She struggled as she tried to get the tree to stand up. "I got it." With a push, I helped Liza push the tree upright. "Now, the ornaments." She took out a box of ornaments. There were regular circle ornaments, coming in rainbow colors, but there were photos and ornaments she made herself.
"This is cute," I said holding up a handmade ornament with a picture of her family.
"Yeah. I made that popsicle stick Christmas tree back in 6th grade, in the start of my middle school years." I put the ornament on the tree. I took out another ornament. This time, it was a beautifully drawn paper Christmas tree. "I didn't know you could draw that well!"
"That was before I got my passion for dance. I was an artist then. You should see my stick figures now."
I laughed. I took out a couple more ornaments, and after the tree, we started on the house. Liza put on tinsel inside, and I put Christmas lights on her balcony. In a couple hours, her entire house was completely decked out with Christmas stuff.
"Well, I better go back now. I want to check on Hailey and Bailey. Although I'm 100% positive that Alex is taking great care of them."
"Sure. Wait. I have these two little scraps of fabric. It should fit like a cape around the bunnies. Give the green one to Bailey and the red one to Hailey. Make your house a little more festive. And tell Alex happy holidays from Liza."
"Ok." I grabbed the fabric and headed out of her house. "Alex!" I said as I walked into the apartment. "I got something for the bunnies."
"What is it?" He gently set Bailey down on the carpet and came out.
"Liza gave me these two pieces of fabric that fit like capes on the bunnies. So even Bailey and Hailey can be festive."
"Sure." Alex took the green one and went to go put it on Bailey. He succeeded and picked Bailey up. "You look great." He said to Bailey.
"I'll put this one on Hailey." I opened the cage door and took Hailey out. I put her down on my lap and tied the fabric around her neck. I made it loose enough so that she could breath, but tight enough that it won't fall off. Alex picked up Hailey. "You look so pretty, girl." He put her down next to Bailey, and I had to snap a photo of this cute moment.
"Well, take care of those two. I'm gonna go edit a video."
"Sure." I walked out of Alex's room, and flopped down on my bed. I grabbed my laptop, and started to edit. I realized I had a card to write for Liza. I opened my drawer and took out the blank card and the pen. I twisted open the pen, lifted the pen, and wrote my first two words.
