Vic's POV

It's been over a month since Kellin and I got a divorce and I was stuck contemplating something. I swished the beer around in its bottle and let out a sigh as I leaned my forearms against my thighs. In my other hand rested the number from the guy at the liquor store and I had no idea what to do with it.

I hadn't dated anyone else besides Kellin, so I really didn't even know how to play the field. I didn't know how to flirt or any of that kind of stuff. When Kellin and I got together were both just awkward and nerdy, now everything was different. I knew I couldn't just be single forever and I should probably accept that it was okay to move on. I was still young, just in my thirties, there was still plenty of time to move on, I just didn't know how to go about it.

I guess the first thing to do would to be to actually call this guy.

"Hey Papa," Alan said, walking into the apartment. I looked up to find him with a backpack over his shoulder and Austin's arm wrapped around his waist. I crinkled my nose. "Everything okay?"

I nodded and finished off my beer. "I'm contemplating something."

"Which is?"

"To call this guy back," I murmured, looking down at the number and the little winky face at the end.

"Like to hang out or a date?" He asked with a hint of anger.

"A date," I said and arched my brow. "Why?"

"What about Mom?"

"What about him?"

"Don't you still love him?'

I shrugged. "Does it matter?"

"You can't just move on! It's been a month!"

"And? He's probably moved on already too, what did you think was going to happen?" I asked, him.

"He hasn't moved on, all he does is work."

"So do I, I need some fun in my life. I need to move on, Alan."

He rolled his eyes at me. "Whatever."

"That's awesome dude. I'm happy for you and I think you should call this guy." Austin said, earning a glare from Alan.

I smiled. "I think I'm going to. I think it's good for me to move past Kellin, I mean, I've never been with anyone else."

Austin smiled at me, "I'm happy for you."

Alan rolled his eyes and stomped away.

"He's being dramatic," I muttered. "What did he expect?"

"Everything that won't happen." He sighed.

I chuckled and shook my head as I grabbed a beer and threw it to him. "He's still convinced Kellin and I are going to look at each other and realize that we just made a big mistake and that we're going to be a happy family again, isn't he?"

"Pretty much."

I shook my head and grabbed another beer. "I need a light buzz before I call him."

He chuckled, "That's always a great idea."

"Come here," I muttered, popping the top on my beer.

"What?" He asked, sitting beside me.

"I don't know how to do this," I sighed.

"Do what?"

"This whole dating thing."

"I don't know, be yourself."
