The last few months have went by slowly, but finally it's the day to leave for New York.
A limo pulls up in front of the Severide's house. Severide takes everyone's bags out to the car. An older gentleman along with the limo driver meets Severide back by the trunk. Severide recognizes the older guy, he was one of the Generals at Shaylynn's trial. The limo driver takes the bags from Severide and puts them in the trunk.
The General sticks his hand out to Severide.
Severide shakes it.
"It's a pleasure to meet the young man who was able to settle down Shaylynn. So many before you after Marshall passed away have tried and failed!" the General tells Severide.
Severide doesn't know how to take what the General says to him. At that time Leslie comes running out of the house and up to Severide. Shaylynn walks out of the house holding Taylor in his carseat and out to the guys. Severide takes Taylor from her and goes to buckle the kids in.
"Shaylynn! It's great to see you again!" the General says to her, then gives her a hug.
"It's great to see you again, Bill! This time under better circumstances" Shaylynn tells him, "No uniform?" she asks.
"No, no uniform. This is low key. Plus I don't want to freak out your guests. Most people tend to be uneasy because of the uniform" he tells her, "Shall we go pick up your guests?"
"Yes, let's go!" Shaylynn says with a smile.

Their first stop is to pick up Casey, Dawson, and Louie. Louie's eyes light up when he sees the limo and runs out to it. Casey and Dawson come walking out behind him.
The limo driver meets Casey back by the trunk and takes the bags. Severide gets out of the limo so Dawson, Louie, and then Casey can get in. He gets back in, then they're off to pick up the Bodens.
They finally pull up in front of the Boden's. Like Louie, Terrance comes outside with a big smile on his face seeing the limo. Following behind Terrance is Donna. Severide gets out to let Donna and Terrance in. Finally Boden comes walking out with their bags. The limo driver meets him back by the trunk and takes the bags from him. Boden walks to where Severide is standing, smiles at him and gives him a pat on the back, then gets into the limo. Severide gets back in and off they head to O'Hare.

After about 20 minutes they can see O'Hare in front of them. The limo turns down a side road that runs along the barrier of the airport. Boden, Casey, and Dawson realize where they're heading, but Donna is in the dark.
Five minutes go by and the limo pulls up to a security checkpoint. The limo driver gets the go ahead to drive on. He drives through and in a couple of minutes, pulls the limo up beside a jet. Louie, Leslie, and Terrance have their noses pushed up against a window looking at the jet. Standing at the bottom of the steps is two men. Shaylynn gets out of the limo and walks around over to the men, while Severide and everyone else gets out of the limo on the other side.
"Mrs. Severide, it's great to see you again!" Colin, the co-pilot says to her.
"It's great to see you again, Colin!" Shaylynn tells him.
Colin walks over to the back of the limo. He starts picking up bags that the limo driver has taken out of the trunk and heads toward the jet.
"Mrs. Severide, it's always a pleasure!" Peter, the pilot says.
Shaylynn smiles at him, "Peter, it's Shaylynn! We've been through to much together for you to call me anything else!"
Peter smiles back at her, "I see this time you have a lot of guests with you. Last time I saw you, I was bringing you back from your wedding/honeymoon. Has it been that long that you have another child?" he asks her.
"Yes, it's been a while" she tells him.
Peter looks at everyone, "Okay everyone, if you would like to start boarding and find a seat. When you do, please fasten your seatbelt. Thank you!"
He pulls Shaylynn a little more away from everyone else, "Are the rumors true? Are you coming back to the Organization?"
"Yes, they're true. But not the New York office. They want a division in Chicago. I'll be heading that up" Shaylynn tells him.
"So what does that mean?" Peter asks.
"That I won't be going overseas and be away from my family" she tells him.
"I'll still get to see you, right?" Peter asks her.
Shaylynn smiles at him, "I would imagine so. I'm sure I'll still have to go to New York for something. I doubt all of the heads are going to come here to see me."
Peter looks around and notices that he and Shaylynn are the only ones who aren't on the jet yet.
"I guess we better get on board and take off while our clearance is still good" Peter tells her with a big smile.
Shaylynn starts up the steps with Peter behind her. Once on board, Peter shuts and locks the door. He heads to the cockpit, while Shaylynn takes a seat beside Taylor.
Peter starts up the engines and they start coasting to get to the runway.
Shaylynn looks around. Louie, Terrance, and Leslie look like they're scared about being on the jet. She grabs a phone that's hanging by her seat and asks Peter to slow down for a minute.
The jet slows to a crawl. Shaylynn gets up from her seat and walks to the back of the jet with everyone watching her.
She gets into a cupboard and pulls out 3 personal DVD players with headphones, then pulls out 3 little cases. While Shaylynn walks back to her seat, she hands a DVD player, a set of headphones, and a little case to Dawson and Donna.
"The little case has children movies in them. It might help keep Louie and Terrance's minds off flying" she tells them.
"Thank you, Shaylynn!" Dawson and Donna both tell her.
Shaylynn walks back to her seat. She hands the last DVD player, headphones, and case to Severide for Leslie. While Severide gets the DVD player ready for Leslie, Shaylynn calls back up to Peter to let him know everything's a go.
The jet starts moving faster. Before they know it, they're in the air on their way to New York.
