The floor was as cool as ice, the rain making it impossible for the marble floor to absorb my heat. My body was lying limp on the ground, as he left me here which was supposed to be our wedding night. The candles were still burning afar, the subtle yellowish light falling on the roses along with the wet smell of rain making it all look like a vivid dream. All these candles yet they failed to keep me warm. I felt cold as I tried to pull my knees closer to my stomach. My cheeks were warm and flushed as I smelt the air once again, it reeked of us.Images of us pressed so intimately together flashed through my mind, goosebumps covered my body in a second, my stomach flipping before clenching tight, my body on fire. I couldn't even bring myself to think anything about what had happened, my heart was clenching in pain. After what Zac tried to do to me, I couldn't bring myself to let anyone touch me. I felt my tears fall again. He ruined me for my mate. My wolf chose to stay silent, her tail covering her face, a silent little wolf.
If it wasn't for her taking over me, I could never ever let him touch me. I felt humiliation and disgrace settle deep within me, my conscious pricking me like a thorn for my wrong and foolish behavior. I let my hair cover my face as if a curtain covering me from my shame, hands clenching around the fabric which covered my stomach.
The air caressed my skin without any restrictions, nothing much covered my body. I was somewhere between a deep sleep and wide consciousness, hyper aware of my surroundings. My wolf sat up, suddenly upon hearing footsteps which were fast and hasty. My heart hammered in my chest and I rose from the ground in a swift moment, my hands reached to cover up my dignity, until now I didn't realize that I wasn't wearing something that covered me at all.
I swallowed the dry lump in my throat, my feet tumbling because of me being still sleepy. My hands were clenched, I didn't need to be scared. I could sense the guards everywhere they were simply out of my sight. In a second I saw a beautiful wolf appearer before me, her face pale, covered with tears. "Mari?" My feet pulled themselves up, my hands reaching for her. "Maria what's wrong?" My own heart was hammering so fast, I could smell the fear leak out of her pores.
"Shemi, my, my mate-" her voice caught in her throat, tears falling down, body shaking. "Mate? You found your mate?" An aura of confusion surrounded me, my lips wanting to smile and show my happiness within though everything was screaming that nothing was alright. My hands were around her shoulders, trying to comfort her shaking form. She nodded trying to talk.
"He isn't waking up he's injured I don't understand. He just won't wake up-" "what where is he?" "He is in a room in the north side of the palace. You must know him they said he was the Alphas brother" I froze. Zac. "Do something Shemi! He's, he's as pale as a dead body! Why aren't they treating him?" "Because I asked them not to" Alexanderos voice echoed through the room. Mari stilled with shock, bowing in front of him, her body shaking uncontrollably.
"But Alpha-" "Zac is serving his punishment. Considering the crime he committed, this wasn't even his punishment. He should've been killed" her face paled, devoid of any color. "He's yo-your brother" she broke into a sob. "What made you do this! Have you no mercy!" Alexandero turned towards her, his fists clenched in anger. "Leave wolf, I don't need to explain anything to you" she was shaking in both fear and rage, it took a minute for her to compose herself. "You owe me an explanation Alpha, on what grounds did you almost kill my mate?"
"Because my fücking brother fücking tried to force himself upon my wife a day before our wedding!" he burst out screaming, my body stiffened, images flashing through my mind....the pain....Zac....His hand tearing my sleeve, his claws grazing my shoulder, hands feeling my chest slipping underneath the material of my blouse...... Tears slipped out of my eyes and I fell on the bed, unable to look anyone in their eyes, my hair covering me like a curtain. She turned towards me, her face as pale, devoid of any color.
