Nala POV
I was walking with my pride until I heard a distance voice behind me. I turned my head and scanned thoroughly to see if anyone was there. When I saw nobody, I turned my head and caught up to the pride.
                          
All of a sudden we hear an ear splitting roar from behind us. We all jumped back, lionesses shielding their cubs and my mother running to the back of the pride.
                          
"Nala get behind me" my mother said sternly. I obeyed her orders and stood behind her. 
                          
We could hear noises, noises that got closer and closer we figured it was definitely not the nomads. They had a really  annoying high pitched  laugh. 
                          
"Hyenas" my Mom shouted to the pride beating me to it, "okay everyone listen up we have to go through the desert, there is a less chance that the hyena's will follow"
                          
"We can't our cubs will never make it" said Mawingu one of the lionesses "You can go but I'm not bringing my cub to his death"
                          
"But if we stay here we are as good as dead" my Mom shot back "At least we have a chance through the desert"
                          
"I'm with Mawingu, I'm not risking my cubs life" said a lioness
                          
"Same here" another lioness said
                          
"Okay let's put this to a vote, all in favour going through the desert come stand by my side and all in favour to stay go to Mawingu"
                          
My mother and I were shocked to see all the lionesses go over to Mawingu. I know if we stay there is a 10% chance of us coming out a live. "Mom we need to go, they made their choice and we need to follow ours" I whispered to my Mom
                          
"But Nala  this is my pride I can't abandon them, what would your Father think "my Mom whispered back
                          
"My Father would want us alive Mom please" I pleaded with my Mom
                          
"Its alright Sarafina go and do what you think is right for your daughter as will I do mine" Mawingu said "I never expected it to end this way but just know you will be missed dearly and you will always be our Queen"
                          
My Mom didn't know what to say she put her head down battling with herself to stay or to not. As a queen its her duty to be right by her pride but as a mother its her duty to protect her daughter.
                          
"Go Sarafina"
                          
"I will miss you all" my mother said tears rolling down her eyes. We all said our goodbyes as my Mom and I slid through the desert.

My mom and I have been traveling through the dessert for 3 days now, with no food and water we can't survive much longer. We have to get to the Pridelands fast.
                          
"How much longer Mom we've been traveling for ages and I'm getting tired and so are you" I said weakly."Don't  you think we should start a pride of our own, you know just me and you"
                          
"Nal-"
                          
"Like I know you were born and reared there but that doesn't mean we have to go back" I said
                          
"Nal-"
                          
"We can be free, not having to worry about anyone else or any pride it'll be like a mother and daughter adventu-" 
                          
"NALA" my Mom shouted grabbing my attention
                          
"What" I said questioningly
                          
"We are here" she said looking up
                          
I looked up to see the most beautiful landscape  I have ever seen in my entire life. 
                          
"Welcome to the pridelands"
                          
I know it has been 2 years since I last wrote, l've been very busy with  my exams and school in general. I hope you can understand.
