"I'm perfectly fine." I quickly reassured the two with a smile, standing to my feet and straightening my spine when both Harry and Angelo looked up from their seats to stare at me as Harry shot me an unconvinced expression, running his fingers along his pierced lip as he observed me."Well," Angelo began in a gruff tone, resting his elbows over his table as he clasped his hands together.
"If she says she's fine I don't see why I'd stop her from another assignment. She did do well with working with you to bring Katia back safely even after the shooting incident." Angelo continued, scratching the side of his burshy brow and directing his words at Harry who was the wanting to restrict me from any upcoming assignments.
We watched as Harry kept silent for a moment, sitting in his seat deep in thought before he leaned forward, looking straight at me as he brought his hand out.
I sucked in a sharp breath, immediatly assuming this was the high five that I've been waiting from my partner for weeks, smiling and raising my own until I realized too late that he was aiming for my wound that he had bandaged on my stomach, pressing his fingers into the cut with a straight face.
Pain immediatly exploded around my abdomen from the fresh bullet wound I had recieved a few days ago, a small squeak of agony escaping my lips at the pressure Harry was putting before I bit my knuckle, slowly and awkwardly falling to my knees first, then my side until I curled up into a ball on the ground to keep from screaming in pain.
Harry finally retracted his hand away and leaned back in his seat with a knowing expression as he directed his gaze back to our boss who observed my state, watching me hug my knees to my chest taking in choppy breaths.
"Clearly whatever she says isn't relevant to her situation. She claims that she's capable of taking on another assignment yet she can't even move from the pain she's in." Harry elaborated, not even glancing down at me even with my face right near his shoes as Angelo hummed in understanding.
He has very nice shoes I must admit.
"I see, well then. I guess Malu, thanks to your dad over here," Angelo started, gesturing over to Harry who grit his teeth in irritation at the little nickname he had recieved but said nothing in response while I slowly stood back to my feet on shaking knees, leaning on my chair for support as I met my boss' gaze.
"You will be on temporary leave from any assignments until your wound heals and you get better." Angelo decided, making my shoulders slump in disappointment before I hung my head and nodded solemnly.
"So will you." He then said, turning to Harry as I snapped my head up in surprise.
"What?" I exclaimed in shock, looking between Angelo and Harry who seemed to be caught in some type of glare contest.
"I already told you," Harry grit out in a low growl, clenching his fists on the arms of his chair before he leaned forward with a menacing look etched on his chiseled face.
