Third Person's POV

Alaric quickly wrote on a stickly note, he turned around and walked to one of the symbols covering the cave wall. Elena and Bonnie stood back behind him, watching intently. "I filled in what I could. Vampire." he said, Elena pointed the torch light to where he had pointed, "Werewolf. Slaughter. Mayham, and so on.." he shrugged, standing back next to Elena with his torch in hand.

"Thats the white oak tree. Used in the spell that created Vampires," Elena said, pointing to a painting of a tree, she looked around spotting another two tree symbols near by, one of them had what looked to be fire drawn below it and the one beside it was upside down with a person underneath, "and that must be when they burned down the tree, destroying the only way that they could be killed."

"Okay, tree equals weapon. But we already knew that." Ric said glancing at Bonnie."But what we couldn't figure out, was this.," he said, pointing to the three drawing picture, "we've got the Witch symbol, and what looks like a bleeding heart," he stated, looking at the figure holding the Witch symbol above their head and what looked to be a heart in the middle of the body, "and usually, an upside down figure means death." Ric finished, showing them the same figure upside down with the heart above it.

"Mikael killed the Witch by ripping out her heart." Elena muttered. "But why is that symbol connected to the Witches death?" she frowned, pointing to the Werewolf and Vampire symbol put together. "Oh my god," Elena gasped, "Rebekah doesn't know the real story!"

Elena went to the desk and grabbed some of the pictures Alaric had printed of the drawings. "Wait, there's one more thing we have to show you," Bonnie declared, grabbing Elena's arm.

"What is it?"

"This." Bonnie stated, pointing to another symbol. It had both Werewolf and Vampire put together, like the symbol for Hybrid, but what didn't make sense was that the symbol for Witch, for the Original Witch, was put around the outside of the Hybrid symbol.

"What does that mean?" Elena asked. "Do you have any ideas?"

Bonnie frowned, "well, both symbols mean Hybrid and Witch. I'm guessing it was the Original Witch pregnant with the Hybrid."

Elena thought about it for a moment, "well, their life story is covering the walls so...It probably means what you just said. But right now, I need to go."

Rebekah had gone back to the mansion after talking with Elena at the Salvatore's home. She had to admit, Aria was right not getting into it. Reliving the past like that sucks. Just as she was pouring herself another drink, Elena barged in as if she owned the place.

"What are you doing here. I thought I made it clear for you to leave my presence. Twice." Rebekah sighed, resisting the urger to eat her.

"How do you know Mikael killed your mother?"

Rebekah turned to face her, "Nik was there. He told me." she stated.

Elena sighed, taking a step closer, "he lied to you."

"And how do you know that." Rebekah rolled her eyes, not believing her. Why do Doppelgangers always try and turn her and her siblings against each other. Tatia with Nik and Elijah, Katerina with everyone she's ever met and now Elena, come to turn her against her own brother. Nothing Elena will say could ever turn Rebekah against him. She knows it.

"The cave where you carved your family's names is covered with symbols." Elena explained, Rebekah glanced at the pictures Elena was holding in her hands, "the story of your family, how they arrived, how they made peace, the spell that turned them into Vampires and this." she said, pointing at a symbol Rebekah wasn't familiar with, "this is the symbol for Hybrid. Its the conbination of the Werewolf and the Vampire symbol. For Klaus. This is the one for your mother."
