I hopped in my white car and turned it on. I decided to stop by Starbucks to grab a little snack or frappe and then go to Target to get some Christmas presents for my family and friends.
"Hi, can I get a grande vanilla bean frappuccino with soy milk and no whip please?" I asked the young woman working at the Starbucks counter.
"Of course, anything else?" She asked. I shook my head. "That'll be $3.61."
I rustled through my bag and pulled out a five dollar bill. She gave me my change and I sat down.
I felt eyes on me instantly. I turned around to see a familiar face.
"David?"
"Oh, uh, hey Liza." He said, standing behind me. "What're you doing here?"
"Getting something to drink...," I said awkwardly. I got up from my chair and passed the brown-haired boy to grab a straw.
"Liza?" The worker said, holding up my drink. I went and got it and headed out the door.
"Bye Liza," David said, touching my shoulder. I desperately wanted to just hug him, kiss him, and tell him sorry but something in me just wouldn't let that happen.

I rolled around my shopping cart down the cereal aisle. I grabbed Raisin Bran and wheeled my cart over to check-out.
"Bye Liza," I heard. I whipped around, waiting to see my beautiful boyfriend staring back at me. When I turned around, there was nothing there. I dropped my shoulders. I just wish I had my life back.

When I got back home, I found a note taped to my door. It read:
Hey Liza,
I just wanted to let you know that if you need anything, anything in the world, you can come to me. I love you. You are the light of my life and I hope you know that. You're so beautiful, just like the sun. Your hair is so curly and voluminous that I could just live in it. Even in the darkest of your days, I will get you flowers, chocolate, and a puppy if you want. I love you Elizabeth Koshy.
Love,
Elevator Man.
