Amber's evil laugh booms through the open area as she manages to hit Nick square in the jaw with a snowball. It's guys against girls in a snowball war, and the girls and I are at the moment winning.
Dad gave up when we only went for him since he didn't move as fast as Colt and Nick, and went inside to start making dinner for us barely five minutes ago.
The boys are mostly going for Cana since she's a little too busy texting her precious Miguel, and even Amber and I've thrown a few snowballs at her for it.
"Last person to strike the opposite team wins!" Nick calls out as he throws a snowball.
I jump out of the way, and bump into Amber who laughs at me before throwing one back at Colt. She missed, but only by a few inches.
We made the rule 'no supernatural help', but none of them are following it very well.
"Miguel's coming over for dinner!" Cans beams, just as an old Mercedes pulls up into the driveway.
For a second both guys stop, look at each other and then at Cana. And Amber and I already know what's to come, so we just casually sit back to enjoy the show.
So he has a car too.
Out of the car steps the young man with dark blonde hair and slightly darker skin, his eyes are just as dark in their deep red color. He's wearing jeans and a winter jacket with fur around the hood, and boots to keep warmth.
He locks up the car, turns around and just like that he's got one snowball crushed against his face and one to his shoulder.
"Oh, sorry."
"We were aiming for Cana."
"Guys!" Cana scowls them.
Amber and I burst into a fit of laughter at the poor boy's startled expression, and we just lay there in the snow looking like two idiots holding our stomachs and wheezing for lack of air.
"Never mind those," Nick says dismissively.
Cana's quick to take Miguel's side, as both the alpha males approach him. Amber gets on her feet first and pulls me up after, brushing snow off my back and hoodie for me.
"I'm Nicklaus, Cana's older brother," he introduces himself, and sticks his hand out.
I'm actually expecting the violent and hard hand shake where you can see the other person being in pain, but it's surprisingly a soft and short one.
"Miguel," he answers politely.
"Colt, I'm kinda like a "second brother"."
"Miguel," he repeats, still with a smile.
They shake hands just as quick and easy, and I'm almost stunned at how well they're handling the situation.
"Dinner's ready!" dad calls from the porch.

"So Miguel," Nick says, directing his attention to the young man.
"How old are you?"
