"Tomorrow Brad! Tomorrow!!" I say basically squealing into Brad's ear. "I know baby." Brad chuckles, pulling me into his lap. "Today is qualifying." Brad adds."No shit Sherlock." I smile, and Brad shakes his head. "No need for the sarcasm." Brad says. "But that's all I ever do. I love me some good sarcasm"
"Sometimes I think you speak fluent sarcasm." Brad laughs, handing me my firesuit. "Why do you have this?" I ask, taking it from his hand.
"Because we qualify in an hour, I just thought you would be really excited." Brad smiles, and I smile widely and run to the bathroom to change. By the time I'm done, Brad has his on.
"Lets go." I smile and grab his hand and lead him outside. "Ew! Look at those disgusting people!" Someone yells, and Brad and I see Joey and Ryan walking towards us.
"Of course." I roll my eyes. "What do you guys want?" Brad asks amused. "Nothing surprisingly. Just wanted to say hi." Ryan says smiling proudly.
"Well that's a strange way of saying hi, but hello." I laugh. "See y'all later." Ryan smiles dragging Joey with him. "Okay that was really weird." Brad says.
"I know." We continue walking towards the track when Brad decides to stop and talk to Dale.
I didn't want to wait on him, because I'm too excited, so I tell him that I will meet him there. When I walk past Chase's RV, I hear running from behind me.
When I turn around, I am tackled by a bunch of blonde hair. "Hi Katie." I laugh. "Hey Jo! Headed to the track?" She asks getting up.
"Was heading to the track until I got shoved to the ground." I laugh dusting off my firesuit. "Sorry, I just wanted to make sure you heard me." Katie laughs.
"And calling my name probably would have been more logical." I wink and laugh. "Probably, but who has time for that?" Katie laughs, and we forget about Chase.
"Guys! Wait up!" Chase yells running back to us. "Oh yeah. Totally forgot about you." Katie scoffs. "Thanks Jo. Even got my girlfriend against me." Chase scoffs.
"Shut up Elliott." I glare at my brother. "I'm not against you." Katie says kissing Chase on the cheek. I gag at the sight and I keep my attention in front of me, to the awaiting Hendrick Motorsports garage.
I miss the way it used to be sometimes. The way I would get greeted by everyone in the garage. But when I walk into the HMS garage, I get greeted by Aaron, and that's about it.
I have to make all new connections with everyone, and that's one thing I'm not good at.
I take a deep breath, and walk into the Penske garage, just to see what's going on in here.
Right when I walk in, I instantly get greeted with people asking all sorts of questions.
One stood out to me, and my old right rear tire changer asked me, "why did you leave us?" "Scott, it wasn't really am option for me. I had to help Jimmie out, he trusts me with his car because we have been friends for a really long time." I sigh.
"And that's why we all love you. You care about everyone." Jamy says coming around the corner. "Jamy." I say and walk over and give him a hug.
"How have you been?" He asks. "I've been good. Just stressed, as usual." I chuckle. "I know the feeling." Jamy smiles.
"We all miss you." Keith, my old left front tire changer says. "I miss all y'all too." I sigh. "Paul was just talking about you. You should go stop by his stall. And Todd's." Jamy smiles.
"I will. Bye guys." I smile and give everyone a hug. As I am walking out, Heather runs into me, and I can tell it's on purpose. I can't keep my cool around her much longer.
