guys, I'm happy you care about me, but don't let my shit get between the two of you." Gabriel's head snapped back to Castiel, eyes glistening with fury. "Something was up, you weren't yourself and I asked Sam and he said he didn't know what was going on, so I asked Dean and he wouldn't tell me what happened. I came to my own conclusions by the way Dean had avoided looking at me and fumbled with his keyring. You clearly liked him and I noticed that the first time we went to this diner, remember?" Castiel nodded. "And I felt sorry, because Dean doesn't swim for your team, or so I thought, I mean he fucking kissed you." "He was drunk." "He kissed you." Gabriel insisted and crossed his legs. "Well, if I would have know this like two days ago, I would have punched him in his stupidity perfect face." Castiel pulled his legs to his chest and rested his head on his knees. "I'm glad I didn't then." Sam was unusually quiet and didn't seem to know what to say. Castiel didn't understand why Sam was still here anyway, they were talking about his brother and how his actions affected Castiel. "I can't believe you're on his side." Gabriel grumbled. "I'm not on his side." Castiel clarified and pushed himself up. It was almost time to go back. "I could talk to him." Sam mentioned, rubbing his neck. He looked uncomfortable and stressed and Castiel felt sorry for him. How did he get himself into this mess? Everything was fine before he met Sam and Dean. Sure, he didn't have friends, nor did he do anything special in his free time, but at least he's had an okay life and his heart wasn't suffering on a daily basis. It was a week later when Castiel went to the toilet during classes and caught Lisa making out with, well, not Dean. He froze in his steps and looked at them with wide eyes, lips parted. They didn't notice him, too caught up in the moment. He quickly left the room and walked back to class. That either meant that Dean and Lisa had broken up or Lisa was cheating on Dean. He hoped for the first, because even though Dean had broken his heart, Castiel didn't want Dean's heart broken. For the rest of the day he couldn't concentrate on what his teachers tried to teach him, his mind a wild spiral of thoughts and potential conversations. During lunch, he hoped he'd see Dean. He didn't know what he'd do then, maybe start a conversation and find out if he was still with Lisa. But then again, Sam would have told him if this was the case. It was frustrating, to say the least. He needed answers and he needed them now. Castiel had occupied his brain with lots of extra homework and had helped his parents in every way possible, during the last week. He'd even cleaned Gabriel's room. And whenever Castiel had seen Dean in the hallway, it didn't hurt looking at him. How could it hurt? Dean was the most beautiful thing Castiel had ever seen. It sucked that he couldn't have him, but that's life. After school, he met up with Sam and if he sounded a little eager when he asked Sam to go to his place, Sam didn't say anything. Mary Winchester greeted them with a hug. Her face was covered in flour and it smelled like apple pie. Castiel liked apple pie. "Castiel, it's nice to see you again," she said and gave him a peck on the cheeks. Castiel blushed lightly and smiled. She told them to wait in the living room, because the pie was almost ready and they could have a slice before they'd do homework together. Castiel only froze for a second when he saw Dean sitting on the couch. He was watching TV, or more like excessively switched through the channels. "Heya Sammy." Sam leaned over to Castiel. "Maybe we should go upstairs," he suggested quietly. Dean still hadn't noticed Castiel and he wanted to nod, but then Mary came
