A/N: The format on this is a little different. Instead of flashbacks, they're flashforwards so they go forwards in time instead of back. Flashforwards are italics, 'present time' is normal writing. This is not in chronological order, I apologise if it's slightly confusing but I wrote these as they came to mind and I'm rather pleased with the result.

'You're such an arrogant ass! Always thinking everything's about you.' she screams at him. 'I hate you!' As soon as the words leave her mouth, she sees the hurt in his eyes and feels horrible. She immediately apologises, silently promising to never say something like that again.

Three years later, she repeats the words. This time, they hurt much more but she doesn't care because her heart is breaking

-----

'You and me, we're done aren't we?' she asks, not sure if she wants him to say yes or no. If he says yes, it'll be easier to walk away but part of her, a rather large part, wants to hold on.

'We'll never be done, Alia, never.' he knows he's making it harder for both of them but he can't bear the thought that this is actually goodbye.

Four years later, he tells her the same thing again. This time it's not a goodbye, it's a promise, a vow. A wedding vow.

-----

He stares at the photo she's just given him, the picture of them that was proudly hanging on her wall the last time he saw it. 'You swore up and down you were going to keep this forever. I asked you for it a million times but you wouldn't even take it down to get it copied. Why are you giving it to me?'

'Because I need a favour.'

'What?'

'I need you to get rid of it for me.' The words are like a knife plunging into his heart. 'I can't keep it anymore. You can have it if you want.'

'I can't keep this.'

'Then get rid of it. Throw it away, rip it apart, do what you want with it; I can't deal with having it around, I don't need a constant reminder.'

'Why don't you?'

'Why don't I what?'

'Get rid of it.'

'I tried but I couldn't do it. It's the only thing I had left of you, of us. I couldn't just throw it away.'

'But you think I'll be able to?'

'I don't know.' Neither say anything for a few seconds. When he finally opens his mouth to speak, she turns and leaves.

He looks at the picture in his lap, wondering what went wrong.

Five years later, that same picture is hanging on the wall in their sitting room, right next to the ones from their wedding day.

-----

'You're really worried huh?' she asks. He jumps, the sudden words surprising him. He hadn't noticed she was in the room.

'Alu, I thought you went home?'

'My ride decided to ditch me.'
