"There are always those mysterious and decieving creatures in which roam upon their home. Lurking around in search for prey, for food. And so they swim around their area to see what was new and what wasn't. And as soon as they locate their food..." Lukas suddenly fake-pounced at us, and then made a roaring noise, making all of them jump except me. I was laughing my butt off pretty much.
"(Name), are you okay?" Tino asked me with a worried tone.
"Yeah," I laughed. "this story is literally defining me. I am sort of like a food maniac."
"Food maniac?" Mathias inquired with a raise of the brow. Then he grinned widely. "I probably know a person who loves food."
"Who though?"
"Probs me," said Alfred. "I love food. Especially the greasy sandwiches!"
"They're not greasy, they're just sandwiches with a different foundation." Arthur grumbled.
"You mean structure." the latter deadpanned.
"I know what I meant to say! Shut up!"
Alfred started laughing. "No you didn't...."
"Hey guys, I'm just going to go outside." I interuppted the two men with a slight giggle. Then I stood up, briefly dusted myself off, and then walked out the door. The rain had slowly dispersed after the passed hour, and the waves were getting rather tough.
The boat abruptly crashed against a wave, nearly causing me to stumble. But then after a few more steps I tripped, clumsy me, and then I landed first on my shoulder, scraping it, and then the rest of my body.
"Ow," was all I could say.
Standing up, I quickly went over to grasp onto the railings of the boat. I took a rather calm sigh, despite what happened earlier, and looked down into the waters.
And suddenly, I saw something flicker, or maneuver. A fading silhouette of something was traveling just under the surface of the sea. It didn't seem human, nor did it seem anything like a dolphin or a shark. It seemed fishy, no?
And then a song tuned out of nowhere.
"Desperate and so lonely, I've looked for you," sang a soft voice whose tune rung a gentle but eerie melody. "And left behind all that I have ever longed for. . ."
In mere curiosity, I slowly leaned in to hear the sound better. At first I couldn't hear the tune or the voice who sung it, with it's words seeping out like a paper burning into ashes. I couldn't hear the words - the holder of the song.
"Cold winds scream through my ears like a banshee," the voice continued, sounding louder than usual. But still soft and gentle. And soon the holder started to appear from upon the water, staring back at me with those dark blue eyes. She was a mermaid, whose smile widened at the mere sight of me, and I simply smiled back. "A freezing chill - a pain that still will forever haunt me. . ."
Suddenly, she stopped. The silence deafened the crashing waves from a distance, and all she did was just stare. Then her mouth opened, all wide and teeth sharp. And suddenly she lunged upwards, as if she were to bite me. I recoiled, and suddenly was brought upon the arms of Lukas who happened to be nearby.
"What are you doing?" He hissed. Then he partially pushed me behind him before taking out a small book.
"Away with you, creature!" He yelled as he chanted a spell that managed to blow her back into the sea below. She screeched in agony as she fell, and screeched again as she went into the water.
It was a slight hesitance before suddenly many mermaids started to pounce upon the boat, hungry for blood.
"Shit," was what he said when he looked everywhere. Many of the mermaids were grasping tightly upon the edge of the boat, many others awaiting to follow behind. Then he looked over to me with a flash of concern. "Stay with me," he said before chanting another spell.
"You're not welcome here!" He said as he shot at them with magical knives that glistened with a purple tint. "Away, away!"
"L-lukas!" I yelped as one of them had the nerve to catch me from afar. "No! Let go!!"
Something flashed upon my eyes.
"Away from your father, (Name),"
I took a sudden gasp as I felt numb. It was an abrupt occurrence that I couldn't interpret properly. That vision was only brief, and yet it was very nostalgic, much similar to the situation at hand.
Then I looked back to Lukas who cut the mermaid's hand off with a knife before pulling me away and shielding me away from the things that were after me.
"They want your blood, (Name). That's what these mermaids are after."
"W-what do we do?"
"I'm not sure," Lukas mumbled. "I'm out of spells. If I want to chant the same one again I have to wait a bit longer."
Spells.
"The Spell book!" I whispered, sure of myself. And then I jumped over to the bag that had surprisingly sat there on the floor next to some barrels and rummaged around to find the book. I would be damned if I lost it at this rate.
As soon as I found it, I quickly tossed it to Lukas, who in return decided to not do anything and ended up getting smacked in the face by the book. He didn't seem as effected as anyone should have done and picked it up, before looking through the spells and enchantments before finding the right one.
"Penitus consumantur!"
Twinkle twinkle
(-little star)
How I wonder where the particles originated from upon the magical spell. They swirled and integrated upon themselves neatly, whilst shining brightly like a (-doitsu) star. Much like a star, was what I meant to say - even if they meant the same thing.
And soon with that very spell taken care of, all the mermaids slowly faded or melted or simply disappeared. I felt accomplished for at least helping out, but guilty for being the cause of this mess.
Lukas looked over to me with a supposedly rare smile.
"Thank you,"
"For what?"
"For helping. It's difficult to defeat a mermaid, and you managed to solve that with ease."
"I-it's quite nothing." I replied, sheepishly.
"Are you alright, though? You must be bleeding somewhere, for it would be the cause of the occurrence." He inquired curiously with a worried look.
"Oh, um, I think after I scraped my elbow it may have been the cause of the bleeding," I suggested, holding my elbow up to see. There it was; there was a red, partially wet spot around the scratch marks.
Suddenly, as if it never happened, his face turned blank and he nodded in understanding.
"I'll go get the bandages," he muttered, quite flustered with himself, and waddled away.
A small smile appeared on my face that very moment.

Hah, pretty sure the Latin is innacurate.
Blame Google Translate.
