Licht sat on her bed, her hands and body still trembling, Clara was by her side comforting her. "What happened?" she asked with worry, Licht just shook her head not wanting to talk about it. She simply clenched her teeth while willing herself to calm down and stop the trembles that continued to rack her body.

She was pissed, not just at him but also at herself. She promised that she wouldn't show anymore weakness ever again but still she did. She berated herself for doing so. She felt so pathetic but her mind reasoned that what she felt was truly terrifying.

She weakly asked Clara to leave her for a while, the other girl protested but seeing her friend wanted some space she obliged with hesitation. Licht calmed herself and she felt that the tremble from her body is finally subsiding. She was strong, she knew that and she isn't easily scared of anything. But when she felt the deadly presence Lark exudes, she can't stop the fear that crept along her spine.

Although, what she did not understand was, though she felt fear the feeling of hurt and rejection took over her more when she saw him angry at her. It was confusing her and making her more pissed off.

When the fear finally left her and the trembling stopped, she heard footsteps nearing the room. Since childhood her senses had always been sharp so she's sure that someone is now just outside the bedroom door. She waited for them to speak but instead only heard grumbles as if they are arguing.

"Just apologize already!" Maris argued with Lark when they stopped at Licht's door and she saw him hesitating. "But what if she doesn't forgive me?" he said while combing his hair out of its usual neat look. As an alpha, he never had to worry about slighting someone and having to ask for forgiveness. Now with his mate, he isn't even sure if she'll forgive her and not leave. It would be devastating and hurt him but it's not impossible.

Maris could only shake her head at his stupidity, as if she understood all of his baseless worries. True, he did scare her, but they were mates, it's practically impossible not to want to forgive your mate. Though Licht is a human, she will still find it very hard to resist Lark. He has the mating bond to count on.

"You wouldn't know until you try." She insisted, nudging at him. "Fine, I'll do it." He said with conviction. Nodding his head, Lark took a breath before knocking. At first there was no response and he was about to knock again when a voice was suddenly heard from inside.

"Who are you and what do you want?" Licht voice still sounded weak and hoarse making him worried, and he once again berated himself for being rash and hot-headed. "It's me, Lark." he softly said as he opened the door, slightly entering the room and locating the girl sitting at the edge of her bed.

Licht froze when she heard his voice and when he entered her room. She just sat there unmoving waiting for him to do something, having no idea what to do herself.

Lark studied his mate, her stance was stiff and she was eyeing him cautiously, it wound him and his wolf that she's looking at them like that. "Licht." he said gently and though she doesn't like him right now she still shivered at hearing his voice, making his mouth quirk slightly and giving him the confidence he needed.

He stepped closer but she's still unmoving, so he risked coming close to her. When he was in front of her, he knelt to level himself with her eyes. He stared at her violet eyes, that showed fear, confusion and hurt in them and he wanted to hit himself from being the cause of it.

Gingerly, he placed his hands on both side of her cheek, glad that she didn't move away. He held her stare, showing all sincerity in his eyes. Licht wanted to flinch away but was unable to do so, there was something in his gaze that was binding her, preventing her to look away.
