Blue's pov (a month and 1/2 later)

"Why is it so damn hot in December in California?" I ask, putting my suitcase in the back of Calum's car. He laughs and opens the door for me. I smile at him and climb into the car. He goes back around to his side and climbs in.

"Because it's California," he answers, holding tightly to my hand.

"Really? You don't say? Someone's in a good mood today," I observe, watching my smiley boyfriend.

"I'm just glad that you finally get to come back home. The other three don't even know that you're coming back today," Calum informs me.

"You didn't tell them?" I ask. I had just gotten out of rehab today. I had been there for the past month and a half. I was originally scheduled to be there for another week, but my doctor let me out early. All four members of 5 Seconds of Summer had come to visit me multiple times.

"No. I wanted to surprise them," Calum answers. He hadn't let go of my hand. I didn't want him to.

"Let's listen to music," Calum states. I knew he wasn't going go let go of my hand to turn the radio on. I reach up and turn it on. American Idiot by Green Day starts blaring. We sing along at the top of our lungs. The car slows down as we come to a stop light. Calum leans over and kisses my lips quickly, causing me to blush. He laughs and starts to sing again.

"Okay it's my turn to pick the music," I state after the album finishes. Calum didn't protest as I plugged my phone into the aux cord. I put on Illuminate by Shawn Mendes, staring with Mercy.

"I didn't know that you liked Shawn," Calum says.

"You didn't? He has amazing music and is hot," I reply, little my inner fangirl show.

"Watch missy. You have a boyfriend," Calum reminds me. I laugh and grab onto his hand again.

"Don't worry, Calum," I say, "there's no competition. No matter how cute Shawn is." He pouts, making me laugh.

"You know, I wasn't going to brag, but since you're being mean, I will. Last December while we were on the Jingle Ball tour, we shared a dressing room with Shawn," Calum informs me.

"Oh if you only found me a year earlier," I complain, being over dramatic. Calum sticks his tongue out at me.

We had gotten through almost all of the album by the time we got back home. No, the rehab center was not that far away. But Calum kept making "wrong turns" which made our drive a lot longer.

"Looks like the boys aren't back yet," Calum says as we walk through the front door.

"Where'd they go?" I ask.

"Luke and Michael had writing. Ashton was hanging out with Bryana," he answers, laying down on the couch. He holds his arms open, inviting me to come snuggle him. I do of course.

"Let's just take a nap all afternoon," Calum tells me. His arms were wrapped around my body. He had one leg thrown over mine. I nod, resting my head against his chest so that I could hear his heartbeat. Soon I drift off to sleep.
