"Yes, I know Daytona is coming up soon." I state. "Well, do you mind coming down to the office?" Chad Knaus asks. "Right now?""Yeah." "Like at this very second?" "The more we get done now, the less we have to do next month." "Okay, I will be there. Bye, Chad." I say and hang up and look over at Brad who isn't paying attention.
"I will be back. I don't know when, but I will be back." I groan. "Where are you going?" He asks grabbing my hand as I get up.
"Chad wants me to go to the office to work on some stuff." "Again?! That's the third time this week!" Brad states.
"I know, but I have to go. I love you." "Love you too. Have fun." "Thanks." I groan and leave.
I arrive at Hendrick Motorsports and park in the designated '48' parking spot.
When I go in, I see Chase and roll my eyes playfully at him. He flips me off and I keep walking to Chad's office.
I knock on the door, and he opens it. "Took you long enough to get here." He says and I sit down. "Hello to you too." I sassily say and he smirks.
"Okay, to business. We need to get the car adjusted so it will be comfortable to you. We are going to try out different seats, steering wheels, and different digital dash settings." Chad says and leads me to the samples he has.
"This seat is nice." I say getting up from the fourth sample. "Okay, now wheels." Chad says and hands me a bunch of different steering wheels. I pick one and then I already know which digital dash setting I like, so that's easy.
"Oh! I almost forgot. Here is your firesuit." He says handing me a dry cleaners bag with a brand spanking new firesuit inside.
"Thank you." I say and carry the bag back to his office. "Alright, well, we will talk more soon in a few weeks. Before you know it, it's gonna be Daytona, and since you haven't gotten a win there yet, we will try to use the same car Jimmie used last year when he won."
"Okay, sounds great!" I smile. "See you soon Jo!" Chad says, opening the door for me. "Bye Chad." I smile and grab the dry cleaners bag and head down the hallway.
I look into a room and see Dale in his office, signing someone to JRM. I keep walking and then I come across Chase in a room. I knock on the door, and he looks up from his phone.
"Troubles here." Chase laughs and I walk in. "Ha ha." I say sarcastically and flop onto the chair in front of the desk.
"New firesuit?" Chase asks questioning the bag in my arms. "Yep. I haven't even looked at it yet." "Open it!" Chase says like a kid during Christmas.
"Okay." I laugh and pull the plastic up, and a blue firesuit, with a Lowe's logo is staring at me. "That looks just like Jimmie's." Chase states.
"I know." I say, kind of shocked. I'm gonna get so much hate and controversy for wearing the exact same logo and car paint scheme as Jimmie. I know it.
"I though they may change it, maybe even a little." Chase says. "Me too."
I cover it back up and tell my brother goodbye and head home.
When I get home I go inside to see Brad and Joey chilling on the couch watching tv.
"Hey Jo!" Joey cheers. "Hi Joey." I laugh. "Is that the new suit in the bag?" Brad asks. "Yeah." "Open it!" Joey yells and I laugh
"Okay, I guess I will." I open it and Joey and Brad look just as shocked as I did.
"That's the same as Jimmies." Brad says. "Like exactly the same." Joey says. "I know. I'm even gonna drive the same exact car he drove last year when he won Daytona." I add.
