We hurry back to Brad's house so we can drop Jesse off. This dog is loving the rain. She keeps jumping about trying to catch drops on her tongue. She's a mad one.

Brad glances at me as soon as a shiver runs down my spine and goosebumps cover my skin.

"Cold?"

"Yeah, a little."

"Well, you should've brought a jacket then, hmm?" he smirks while simultaneously eyeing my thin jersey and pulling his jacket tighter around himself.

Cow.

I finally spot the familiar house as Jesse bounds to the door. We let her in and Brad runs up while I stand by the front door and try to defrost.

"Heads up," is all I hear before something soft falls on my head and covers my face.

I slowly peel it off as Brad starts laughing, "You can't say I didn't warn you!"

It's a soft hoodie that smells warm and woody; just like a beach bonfire.

I pull it over my head as I respond, "Thanks."

"Cool, lets go," he gestures to the door.

We share an umbrella as the rain picks up a bit. The clouds look as if they've been laced with something eerily green and I don't think that's a good sign.

Just as we reach my house we hear a few hard knocks to the pavement and that's when I realize it's hailing.
