I'm getting into a habit of posting this update quite late. Sorry. Anyway, here we go!

Melissa's POV

The next morning, the twins were the first to wake up. They must have known that something was going to be different today, as both of them started to wail, vying for my attention. I heard the groans from the other 3, obviously a bit annoyed that their youngest siblings had woken them up by screaming. I got out of bed and went into the twins' room, being greeted with teary faces and runny noses.

"What's wrong angels?" I said to them, smoothing hair off their faces. They sniffled, pausing for a moment, before both continuing to cry. I wrapped one arm around each of them, allowing them to wrap their small arms around my neck. I picked them up and put them on my hips. Kirstie buried her face in my neck, her cries quieting down a little. Mitch continued to wail, not able to calm down enough to even attempt to say what was wrong.

I sat down on the rocking chair I kept in their room, letting them cuddle up on me. I rocked gently, calming them down in the best way I knew.

"Shh, my little ones. Why all the tears?" I whispered to them, desperate for them to calm down. Kirstie pulled her head out of my neck and looked at me with red eyes.

"Miss ... Daddy." She managed to say between sniffles. I cuddled both of them closer at her words.

"Sweetie he'll be home in less than a week. That's really soon." I soothed both of my little ones until they calmed down enough to stop crying. At that point, the other 3 came into the room, fully dressed with worry all over their faces. "They're fine. They just miss their daddy." I quickly explained to their worried brothers. They nodded, understanding what their siblings were feeling.

Before I knew it, we were in the car on the way to school. Scott had been so excited all morning; he was practically bouncing off the walls in excitement. He was ready to go to school, but the twins weren't so sure. Kevin and Avi got out of the car no problem and went to their part of the school. I got the other kids out of their car seats, making sure they all stayed by my side. I held Kirstie on my hip, Mitch's hand on the other, and Scott was holding onto Mitch's other hand.

We walked to Scott's new classroom, with all three pairs of eyes looking around and drinking in the new environment. It wasn't too far to walk until we got to the right place. His new teacher was at the door ready to greet us.

"Hi there, I'm Dawn Carly, can I get your name and child's name please?"

"I'm Melissa Brown, it'll be Scott that will be staying with you today."

"Nice to meet you. Normally I would shake your hand, but I see you have your hands a little full." She smiled at each of the twins, who hid their faces in me. Scott was quite confident and tapped on her leg to get her attention.

"I'm Scott and I'm turning four REALLY soon." He grinned proudly up at his new teacher. She bent down to his level and smiled back at him, seemingly just as excited.

"Hello Scott, I'm Miss Carly. You can put your things for the day in a cubby over there and go play." She pointed to where the cubbies were and he ran over and put his little backpack in an empty one. He ran back over to me and hugged my legs saying something into them.

"Say it again sweetie, I couldn't hear you with your face in my knees." I said, laughing a little at his silliness.

"I love you Mummy, see you later." He said, looking up at me. I knelt down and he kissed my cheek then ran off happily, excited to make some new friends.

"Well he's definitely going to be fine. He seems pretty settled already." I said to Miss Carly, putting Kirstie on the floor, but grabbing her hand instantly.
