Chapter 3: In Charge Of A Magic School
-Bex p.o.v.-
The days went by before I even noticed. I spent my days at Tom's house, mostly hanging out with Lucius and Narcissa. When Tom needed anything from me I left them and returned back to the pair when I was able to go.
Tom seemed to realize my bond towards the two and made them my Death-Munchers. They were in charge of dealing with me, if I wanted to go somewhere they were made to come with me, if I wanted something they got it for me, if I wanted to sit and talk they did it.
I could keep them as my friends while also protecting them from Tom. And that was all I wanted.
Of course I still had Rosier, he was one of Tom's top men, one of his favorites, and he was in my command when I wanted.
"How was your sleep?" Cissy asked coming into my room.
I shrugged, "it was fine, thanks. What's for today?"
Cissy smiled, holding up a bright red dress, "how about this?"
I immediately started to shake my head, "no. No more dresses. I've already had to wear one on my birthday when all I wanted was to sit around in sweats."
She huffed, "fine, but you are going to wear this blouse." She held up a floral tank top that was frilly at the bottom.
I looked at it in dismay, "do I have to?"
She smirked, "yes, you do. It'll go perfectly with that pair of dark jeans and those combat boots."
I narrowed my eyes and frowned, "great, I've become a doll for Cissy to dress up." I muttered to myself.
Cissy only giggled and threw the clothes at me, commanding me to change.
When I finished, Cissy examined me, taking in my entire outfit. "Just as I suspected," she nodded, "you look amazing."
I rolled my eyes and followed her down the stairs to the dining hall. "Fawkes?" I questioned, looking at the familiar Phoenix sitting on the oak table.
"Oh, good, this bird won't let anyone take the letter. It's been here for the past ten minutes." Rosier glared at the bird, looking down at the cut on his arm.
I placed a hand on my hip, looking at the Phoenix questionably. "Fawkes, what did you do now?"
The bird squawked at me and flew, landing on my shoulder, he held his leg out for me, a letter attached.
With a sigh, I removed the letter, unravelling it. In familiar, curly hand writing that I knew was my fathers, the letter was written.
"Oh," I gasped, rereading the letter several times.
"What is it?" Tom asked with a raised eyebrow.
I frowned, "I have to go. There's an emergency with my father. One of his friends has died, he has a funeral to go to down in Africa. He's in charge of planning and arranging the entire thing. I'm in charge of the school until he gets back."
"So you are now running Hogwarts?" Lucius questioned.
"Until he gets back. It says he'll be back about a week into the new term." I explained, "I'm sorry Tom, I have to go. I've got a list of duties to do." I smiled apologetically to him.
"That's quite alright." He assured, "I'm glad that you stayed with me this long, do visit every once in a while? It'll save Rosier the trouble of tracking you down." He chuckled.
I grinned, "send me an owl next time you want me to visit. I'll try to pop in other times, surprise visits are always the best. Though I wouldn't want to be a burden, so tell me when to come and I'll be here."
He smiled, "it's no trouble having you over, I enjoy the company. Until next time." He kissed my knuckles, bowing to me.
"Bye Tom," I hugged him before turning to Lucius and Narcissa. "It was great seeing you two again, I look forward to my next visit." I hugged them both before stepping into the fire, flooing to my new office for the next few weeks.
"Oh good, you're here." Minnie was seated in one of the chairs facing the grand desk. "Let's get started, here is the list of Muggle Borns that will be coming into their first year. Your job is to go to the address next to their name and explain it to them, answer any questions they have and use magic if necessary. When you finish there is much more to do."
"How am I to get there?" I questioned, taking the list of names from her, "I can't apparate."
She smiled, "you fly."
I smirked, "first you put me in charge of a magic school and now you're giving me permission to fly around in the Muggle World, in daylight?"
"After casting a spell- invisitatum- that allows only magical people to see you. When you get to the house say conspicuum to be seen again." Minnie instructed, "can you handle that?"
I scoffed, "I've spent the last week with Lord Voldemort. I'm sure I can handle this."
She gasped, "you have?" She gripped my hand suddenly.
I shrugged, "yeah, what about it?"
"What happened? Were you kidnapped again? Did you hear any of his plans?" Minnie questioned, looking at me in need of the answers.
"One of his followers came to my house the other day and said that he requested my presence. So I went with him." I explained, "I don't really listen to what goes on in his Death-Muncher meetings so I don't know anything."
Minnie gasped, "you willingly went with him? What would possess you to do so?"
I glared, "he was the only one wanting to spend my birthday with me, so I did it. Now, I have things to do."
I walked out of the office, calling for my broom as I went. The broom was coming at me in seconds, I held my hand out to catch it.
Mounting the broom, I pushed off, flying in the corridors. I flew out of the school building and into the open air.
"invisitatum," I muttered to myself, a tingling sensation going through my body. I was now invisible to every muggle.
