We landed in London around early afternoon the next day. We dropped our bags off at our hotel room and decided to take a tour of the city until it was time to get ready for the concert that night.
We both felt that what we had worn on the plane was presentable enough, so we didn't bother changing. I was on the more comfortable side in a gray hoodie paired with a pair of black joggers and some running shoes. She was more on the cute side by wearing a baggy tee with a pair of ripped jeans to go with her black converse.
To fill the time, we did typical touristy things. We went to see the Big Ben, we stopped by the London Eye, and even went to the Buckingham Palace. At one point we did a little bit of shopping as well.
We stopped for lunch sometime in between all that. We went to a little café that looked like a nice place to stop. We talked about what we were going to wear tonight and how she was excited to meet the rest of the guys for the first time.
Although we were having a good time, the article that Vanessa showed me before we boarded the plan was floating through my thoughts. I wanted to bring it back up, but I didn't want to ruin the fun we were having.I ignored the thought and we went about our day.
As it got closer to early evening, we decided that now would be a good time to head back. I drove the car we rented back to the hotel we were staying in which was a little strange considering it's on the opposite side of the road.
Once we got back, I took a quick shower before changing into my outfit for the night. I pair a coral-pink tank with white skinny jeans and a nice pair of sandals. I slid on a jean jacket over the tank.
While I was getting ready, Vanessa hopped in the shower. After changing, I moved on to my hair and makeup. I brushed my hair and left it in its natural wavy curls, one of the benefits of being mixed. I did my makeup very simple: some mascara, light eyeliner, and a natural pink lip color.
By the time I finished, Vanessa was dressed and getting ready to curl her hair. She had changed into a forest green, off the shoulder crop top, black skinny jeans, and a pair of sandals as well. She quickly did her makeup afterward.
We made our way to the venue. There was a lot of girls waiting outside for the gates to open. Luckily, one of the guards recognized me and led us into the venue. We were given directions to where everyone was getting ready for the show. We quickly thanked him before heading in that direction.
When we got to the room, everyone was busy with a conversation. Their attention shifted to the door as we walked in. I greeted everyone I knew and introduced myself to those I didn't. I also introduced Vanessa to the guys, which she was very excited about.
Throughout all of this, I saw no sight of Harry. My confusion must have been visible because Liam informed me, "He had to take a call. He should be back soon." I thanked him for that bit of knowledge and talked to him about how things were going.
A few minutes later, the sound of the door opening caught my attention. My excitement was quickly turned to disappointment when it was only a stagehand informing the opening act that they go on in ten minutes.
I chat with a few others to keep myself busy. Soon, the opening act had to leave and Harry still hadn't returned. Since the show was about to start, it was time for me to go to my seat.
As I was saying, "See you later," to everyone, Liam stopped me to apologize. I told him that it was okay and that I'll see him after the show. I waved a final goodbye to everyone before Vanessa and I left to go watch Augustana.
Their performance was amazing and I made a mental note to look them up later. After their last song, they pumped up the crowd for the anticipated performance of One Direction. There was a wait between the performances.
The crowd went crazy as the boys made their way on stage. The boys open with Clouds and continue through the set list. Vanessa and I sing along to each and every song, enjoying the night. The boys sing Drag Me Down and I smile as I remember the day I went with Harry to the studio a couple of months ago.
Before we know it, the guys are performing the encore. Vanessa and I made our way back to the room we were in before. We waited for the boys to finish their meet and greet.
The boys piled into the room one by one, Harry being the last of them. I praised the other boys for their great performance. I walked up to Harry and gave him a hug. "You did great babe," I stepped on my tippy toes hoping to give him a kiss, but I ended up pecking his cheek instead.
I stood confused for a second, but I soon noticed that he had turned his head in the process. "Thanks," he mumbled before leaving my arms. He was on his phone within minutes, ignoring me. I was hurt by the action but kept it to myself.
I made conversation with everyone else, attempting to talk to Harry in the process. He hadn't stopped looking at his phone the whole time. Being the sensitive person that I am, it almost brought me to tears.
"Well, I think we're going to head out," I announced. I gave everyone a goodbye hug. When I got to Harry, I whispered, "Happy four months," before I let go. He had a confused, then sad expression on his face. Before he could reply, Vanessa pulled me out of the room.
I waved to everyone before the door closed behind me. "Why are we leaving, so early?" she questioned me as we made our way to the rental car.
"What do you mean early? It's like one in the morning." I retorted.
"Come on now, what is the real reason?" she interrogated. We headed towards the hotel that was not too far away.
"Well, I felt that Harry didn't really care that I was there," I began, "like he was on his phone the whole time." Vanessa told me not to worry about it and that he's probably got something going on. "Yeah, talking to that model chick," I mumbled under my breath.
"Don't go there," she warned. "You don't even know if that's true."
"You're right," I admitted defeat as we approached our room door. "I'll go see him tomorrow before they have to leave again."
"I'm sure it's nothing," Vanessa reassured, "but whatever helps you sleep at night." She unlocked the door. "I'm going to get ready for bed." She heads into the bathroom. I stepped out onto the little balcony that we had.
I wrap my jean jacket tighter around me as the cool night air hits my skin. I look up at the nearly full moon that illuminates the sky. I subconsciously reach up and wrap my fingers around the heart that hangs around my neck. "Please be nothing," I whisper to no one in particular.
I look out over the city before heading back inside. I got ready for bed, mentally preparing myself for what tomorrow will bring.
