Chapter 15: Gaining Attention, Unwanted Attention
Tas had gone back to New Zealand the next day. To be honest, I was happy he was gone, one less thing to worry about. It was late at night and I was packing up my stuff after what felt like a long day on set. "I'll see you tomorrow Mel." Ciara says as she walks past my dressing room as she leaves.
"See ya." I call back to her. I finish packing up my things and leave shortly after her. I was the last one of the cast to leave. My phone rings in my pocket. "Hello?" I answer.
"Hey it's Simon."
"Hey."
"You still coming to my party?" Crap! Simon invited me to a party and I completly forgot!
"Yes. I'll be there in a few." I hang up and quickly dial Logan's number.
"Hey babe." He answers after the first few rings.
"I'm going to be late home tonight, is that ok?" I ask.
"Sure. Where you going?"
"Simon invited me to a party."
"Oh that's fine. I'm just going to finish some work tonight anyway."
"Love you." I hang up and run to my car. Simon's place wasn't too far away from my work. I get there and there were lots of cars parked outside and the faint sound of music. The door was open so I walk in.
"Melody!" I hear Simon call. I turn and find him making his way over to me. "Glad you could make it." He hugs me and I hug him back. I saw a few people staring pointing at me.
"Me to." The party was actually really enjoyable, but I really just wanted to go home to Logan. I missed him... and I kept seeing yesterdays activities in my head. A few of Simon's friends came over and asked to take photos with me.
"I have some great news to tell you." Simon says to me as he walks with me to my car once the party was over. There were a few people still here.
"What is it?" I ask curiously.
"I recording label has asked to sign me after they saw me do the cover with you!"
"That's great!" I give him a hug.
"I just wanted to thank you for asking me to do that cover with you in the first place."
"It's all good." Simon and I talk for a little longer before I leave. Logan was already asleep when I got home. I quickly change and curl up next to him.

My phone wakes me early into the morning going off multiple time with notifications. Logan and I both groan at the same time. I sit up and grab my phone. I had received multiple text messages, emails and Twitter notifications. Just as I was about to unlock my phone, Lily calls. "Hello." I say with a yawn.
"Major problem." She states.
"What is it?"
"Turn on 'E! News'." I turn on the TV in or room while still on the phone.
"Melody Matthews, also known as 'Petite' from The Masked Girls was spotted out with an unidentified mystery man last night at a party." A photo of Simon and I hugging by my car comes up on the screen. "Her boyfriend, Logan Henderson, was not on the scene and neither were her YouTube cast mates. Is this a cheating scandal by the innocent girl from New Zealand? We-" I turn off the TV and hang up the phone.
"Honestly, what people will do for money." I say to myself. Logan was awake now. He didn't seem angry.
"I didn't cheat on you." I sit myself on his lap.
"Oh, I know that. You're not that type of girl." I let out a sigh of relief.
"So... I've never been in one of these situations before... what do I do?" I ask with a laugh.
"You go and talk to your manager on how to approach it." I nod at Logan's answer.
"Makes sense." I get changed and get ready to go to Cloudia's place with Logan.
