MAYA'S POV
                          
"Hey family! What? There's a party and I didn't know?"

There room lightened up a little because of the open door
                          
His eyes focused on me with a shocked expression 
 "Maya?" he asked in almost a whisper
                          
"Riley" I turned to my best friend ignoring Josh "I believe you started saying something"
                          
"Oh yeah" Riley said while closing the door making all of us glow in the dark again
"Lets get this party started" she pressed on some remote then 'Neon Lights' by Demi Lovato started playing

                          
We were dancing when Hope grabbed my hand suddenly
"Hopie are you ok?" I asked bending down so I was her height 
 She nodded and dragged me aside
                          
"Yama this man twied to tawk to me" she pointed to Josh who was talking with Riley "and I don't know him so he a stranger" I smiled at her cuteness
 "You wanna know who this is?" I asked and she nodded 
 "You remember I told you about my daddy?"
 "Bad Yama daddy" she said glaring at nothing
 "Exactly. So this guy is like my daddy. He left me"
 "I didn't leave you Maya" I turned around to see Josh standing behind me
                          
"Oh really?" I turned to Hope "Hopie go play with Auggie ok?" she nodded and ran away
                          
"Who is she?" Josh asked as I sat on the bay window that's in the living room
 "My little sister. If you would've stayed you'd know her" I rolled my eyes as he sat next to me and I scooted away 
 "Maya I –"
 "You know what? I don't know why I'm even talking or listening to your shitty voice. I'm done with you." I got up 
                          
"Brandon!" I shouted and Brandon ran up to me with two cups of red liquid
"Is it good?" I asked
 "The best" he smirked and handed me the drink
                          
I gulped in down in one long sip 
 "Wow someone is on tonight" he looked at me amused while chuckling 
"Shut up" I growled on him 
 "Wow chill Lion what happened?" 
 "Him" I pointed back at Josh
 "Is that...?"
 "Yep"
 "I thought you are over him"
 "I am"
 "So...?"
 "He's just annoying" and after I went away but felt some hand grab my wrist
                          
"Maya" I heard my best friend
 "Yeah pumpkin?"
 "Why are you mad at Josh"
 "I'm not mad at him" I lied
 "I know you're lying- wait! You're not over him are you?"
I looked up at her "I already told you that I was over him... why bring this up??"
 "Oh my god you are still into him"
 "Riley I alrea-"
 "Maya stop lying! Why didn't you tell me?" she looked a bit hurt
 "Riley I didn't tell you because there was nothing to tell! I am over him!" I raised my voice a little "And anyways..." I looked down lowering my voice "He's getting married"
                          
"Stop lying to yourself Maya. You still love him. Why did you make us all think that you don't?"
 "Because I didn't want you all to look at me with pity" I said looking back up
 "We wouldn-"
 "Yes you would Riley! Because all of you are in a relationship except from me"
 "Maya-
 "No Riley you can't fix this ok? He's getting married and that's why I haven't told you because he's your family and I know you want him to be happy"
 "You're my family too! And I want you to be happy more than anyone in the world!"
 "Sorry Riles" I shrugged "I'm not meant to be happy. Not in these life"
                          
I released my wrist from her grip and went to the kitchen 
                          
"You want cake?" Farkle asked and I nodded
 He gave me a slice and I sat down next to him
"You have to tell him" he said
 "I told you I need time"
 "I don't care. He's here. Now. You have a great chance. Tell him or I will"
 "Farkle-"
 "No! I gave you enough time"
 "It's not even a day!"
 "Now."
 "No"
 "Ok then" he got up 
 "What are you doing?" I got up as well
 "Doing my job. I told you I'm always here for you so I'm doing my job" he was about to walk away
 "Wait!" he looked at me "I'll tell him" I said and walked over to Josh
                          
"Pretend I'm saying something important and put a confused look on your face then hesitant look and shrug" I told Josh
Well his confused expression was real but he listened anyway then pretended being hesitant and he shrugged not knowing what to do
 I put on a sad expression then walked back to Farkle
                          
"I told you" I sat down next to him on the couch looking down
 "What'd he say?"
"Nothing he just shrugged a little not knowing what to do"
 "Oh so he did just what you told him"
 "Yeah- No wait what?" I looked at him confused
 "Maya I'm a genius you really think you can put on an act without me knowing it?"
 "You believed it for the past 3 years" I mumbled
 "Well you can be a good actress when you want"
 "So now I didn't want?"
 "You say you don't want him to know but I think you're just lying to yourself"
 "So you're saying I want him to know?"
                          
"Who needs to know what?" I looked up to see Josh standing behind the couch looking at both of us
 "Noth-"
 "Maya still loves you"
"Farkle!" I looked at him shocked and disappointed
 "I would say I'm sorry but I'm not lying to my friends" he said then got up leaving Josh and me alone
                          
I looked down at my hands as I felt someone sitting beside me
                          
"You still love me?" "No"
 "Maya Riley told me you rejected every guy that asked you out"
 "So?"
 "You waited?"
 "I keep my promises Josh" I looked at him "unlike other people"
 "Maya I thought you moved on"
 "You didn't even bother to ask me"
 "Riley told m-"
 "That's because I lied to everyone. I tried convincing them that I'm over you but now that I think about it I think I tried to convince myself"
 "Maya I'm getting married"
 "I know" I stopped for a second "and it's with the girl you cheated on me with"
 "I thought we were over this"
 "We were. But you left. For her. Just like my dad"
 "Now wait a minute. I am not your dad"
 "Tell that to the last 3 years when all you did was avoid my existence"
 "I didn't want you to wait"
 "How long have you been with her?"
 "2 years and 10 months" 
 "So two months after we promised to stay in the long game you 'wanted me to move on' just so you can be with her??"

"Riley" I got up and she looked at me "Thank you all for this amazing birthday but I think it's time for me and Hopie to head home" I took Hope and walked out the door after giving hugs to everyone except for him
