In that fleeting moment when our eyes met,
I felt a strange familiarity,
The gleam in your eyes,
As humble as the sunlight,
Illuminating my world in the past centuries that I have lived,
Your smile sent an odd yet comforting warmth to my heart,
But beyond all the pleasant feelings,
Is an irrational fear and disdain,
I am beyond perplexed,
I struggle to rummage through my memories,
To enlighten myself,
But nothing!
Where?
When?
How?
Tell me, have we met before?
Are you a specter of someone I have lost?
A made up persona in my phantasms?
Or are you a subject of my unconscious decision to bury pain provoking memories?
