Hyungwon woke up in his own, comfy bed, covered in his blanket. It was weird because he remembered to have fallen asleep in the couch but didn't really think about it that much because he smelled someone cooking breakfast.

He walked downstairs to where the smell was coming from and saw Hoseok in the kitchen next to the stove. He had an apron on and Hyungwon wondered where he had gotten that from but it looked kind of good on him.

"I think the eggs are burning", Hyungwon said as he sat down next to kitchen table. During the two times Hoseok had been in his house, he had noticed that the guy was not so good of a cook.

"Oh, shit", Hoseok quickly took the pan of the stove and started moving the eggs around. They smelled bad now.

"Hoseok, dear, do you not know how to cook", Aunt Park ran to the kitchen, also wearing an apron. There was some kimchi sauce in her hands.

"Aunt!" Hyungwon yelled out as he saw the woman.

"Hi Hyungwon, how are you feeling?" Aunt said smiling and then took the pan from Hoseok. "I was making breakfast with your friend here but apparently he doesn't know how to cook."

Hyungwon and Hoseok looked at each other and both smiled.

"He is alright", Hyungwon said even though they both knew that there was not one dish Hoseok could master.

"So, how did you two guys meet", Aunt asked carrying what was left of the eggs to the table.

Hoseok came to sit next to Hyungwon with some ointment and fresh bandages for the few cuts that was in Hyungwon's face.

"Uh..." Hyungwon started, looking at Hoseok to see if he should tell that they met because he rented Hoseok as a friend.

"It was at the library I work at", Hoseok said while taking the old bandages off Hyungwon's face.

He appreciated that Hyungwon let him do that, even though he usually didn't like being touched all that much. Normally he wouldn't have let Hoseok carry him anywhere but he had been asleep last night and hadn't noticed.

"I helped Hyungwon find one book and after that he kept coming daily and asked me for more books", he continued and spread the ointment to Hyungwon's wounds.

"That sounds so romantic", Aunt said and put food on both of the boy's plates.

Hyungwon did a fake smile. It did sound romantic and he wished that it would be true instead of what it actually had been.

Once Hoseok was done with his face, they started eating breakfast. Aunt did the dishes and then went to other room to continue her kimchi.

"Why you got fired from the friend rental service" Hyungwon asked the question that had been bothering him for a while

"I didn't get fired. I quit", Hoseok smiled. Hyungwon looked doubtful and he didn't believe Hoseok because just yesterday Hoseok had said that he got fired.

"Do you want to do something today? Go to bowling again maybe?" Hyungwon asked another question when there was about to be heavy silence.

"You're not supposed to do anything like that for few days. Let's just sit on the living room and read a book."

Hyungwon really didn't feel like sitting around. For some reason, now when he was with Hoseok, he suddenly had energy to do anything.

They ended up in the couch of the living room. Hyungwon was reading the book he had gotten few days ago but hadn't had time to read it then because he had been with Kihyun and the others.

Hoseok sat on the other side and just stared at Hyungwon without the other noticing. He didn't need anything special to do and was good with just sitting there.

Upstairs, in Hyungwon's room his phone was ringing rapidly but he wouldn't notice it in a while.

After a few hours, Aunt Park had to leave, she didn't live there after all. She trusted on Hoseok to take care of Hyungwon.

Even though Hyungwon wasn't supposed to look at bright screens for a few days, they ended up watching some film that came from the tv. Hyungwon was sitting on the other side of the couch and Hoseok in the other. Just normal friends' movie night.

Hyungwon fell asleep after the first half an hour. Hoseok noticed it and turned the volume down a little.

He felt like there was some protecting instinct in him when it came to Hyungwon. He just needed to be there for the guy, to make sure that he was okay and that no one would ever hurt him.

Well, except for that one time. Last month that he was already forgetting.

The movie was about a group of friends that went on a trip together to have fun before one of them would enlist but got in trouble. From that description it would've sounded like fun movie to watch with your best friend but at the end of the movie, Hoseok was crying and he thanked god that Hyungwon was asleep.

"Why are you crying?" Hyungwon's voice made Hoseok startled.

"The movie was sad", Hoseok said simply and scooted next to Hyungwon so they both could sleep.

"A-are we sleeping together?" Hyungwon seemed unsure.

"Yeah, it's not a big deal", Hoseok shrugged. He was half a feet away from Hyungwon so he wouldn't disturb the guy's precious private space.

Hyungwon was just quiet and watched as Hoseok got comfortable next to him. There was something in his mind but Hoseok didn't notice and he had already closed his eyes.

"Why you always lie?" Hyungwon asked, breaking the silence again. Hoseok's eyes opened.

"If you're talking about the crying thing, it really was because of the movie", Hoseok sat up straighter, holding his upper body on top of his elbows.

"I don't mean only that. This morning you lied when you said you weren't fired. And remember when we went to that cafe and you said you hadn't been there before", Hyungwon started opening up about all the things that had been bottled up inside his mind.

"How do you remember things like that", Hoseok muttered, his eyes staring straight at Hyungwon's face, trying to read the boy's expression but Hyungwon was looking down so it was hard.

"You lied back then, didn't you? I can see through you really easily", Hyungwon himself was surprised that he was capable of saying things like that. He had already thought before exact words he would say.

"Maybe but it's nothing", Hoseok felt awkward because he had no idea how many things he had told Hyungwon that had been lies. It was just a habit of him to cover things up to make other person feel better.

"And you also lied yesterday at the hospital when you said that you would never leave me again."

Hyungwon's last sentence, that came with his voice cracking at the end, hit Hoseok like a rock and at this point, he didn't know what to say no more.

He waited for Hyungwon to continue but there was nothing more. Hyungwon just sat there, staring at his hands, kind of regretting talking so much.

"Hyungwon", Hoseok sighed, trying to gather words in his mind but he really had no idea what to say. "I didn't lie yesterday."

"Maybe it wasn't intentional but what you said was a lie anyways. You will leave me eventually", Hyungwon finally raised his head to look at Hoseok just a little bit.

"I won't leave you, Hyungwon."

"Nothing gold can stay."

Hoseok felt a pain in his heart because Hyungwon was probably referencing to S.E. Hinton, the author they both apparently loved.

"I promise", Hoseok held out his pinkie. "I will never leave you again. Best friends?"

Hyungwon thought for a while before bringing his own hand to do the pinky promise thing with Hoseok, as cheesy as it was.
