As soon as I showered and changed, I headed into the living room to meet up with Light. As soon as he saw me, he smiled widely. "Wow, you look great May." He stood up and so did my dad. Dad came closer and hugged tightly. "Ok listen up. I do in fact have to head into the office today for some overtime even though it's Saturday. You know where the extra key I'd hidden if you should somehow loose your key today. No one is welcome in the house with you after 10 if I'm not home by then... Not even this boy." Dad directed me. I nodded in understanding. "Ok dad, be safe at work today. I'm heading out too with Light now."

Light reached out to shake my dad's hand firmly. "Thank you so much for allowing me to hang out with your daughter and meet you properly. I promise, I'll keep her safe." The two bowed to each other and just like that, we were out. I sighed in relief as we walked up the sidewalk. "Light, be honest with me. What did my dad say to you while I was in the shower?" I waited nervously for him to reply. He smiled and laughed for a bit. "Your dad is a really good father. He's just worried about you because you've always been introverted since your mother and sister passed away. He wanted me to protect you as a friend. He also put down a lot of ground rules just in case we ever began to date. Either way, my fate is sealed with you and I'm fine with that. I wanted to be close with you ever since I met you." Then he quickly cleared his throat and chuckled nervously. "But hey, a-anyway, what did you want to do today?" He changed the subject. I thought for a moment before gasping in realization. "If there's a mall close by then I'd really like to go there. I hear there's a lot of really cool stuff at the Japanese malls." I said excitedly. Light chuckled and checked his watch. "I think you should consider that most of the technological advances are in a larger part of Tokyo. You're in the Kanto region and we're not that impressive. Anyway, if we catch the bus then we can make it there in about 10 or 15 minutes. Let's go!" He grabbed my hand and pulled me along the sidewalk. When we made it to the bus stop, we boarded the his effortlessly. Soon we were already at the mall. Even though Light said that the Kanti mall wasn't much, it was huge and incredible to me. Light kept my hand and held it as we rode the escalator up. As we passed a sugar kiosk, he noticed my facial expression. "Hey, let's get something special over here. Pick anything out, I'll get it for you." I put my hand up to his mouth and chuckled. "Not this time Yagami. I told you I'd pay you back from yesterday. So this time you order what you want instead."

"Haha, fair enough." Light shrugged and walked up to the kiosk with me. He thought for a while before ordering something. "I'll have a marshmallow cookie and a small fudge Brownie. Is that alright with you? He looked down at me with an expecting look." I glared in speculation at him and smirked. "Oh no you don't. You're trying to order from the cheap part of the menu but jokes on you, Im not gonna let that happen." Light gasped as I looked up at the clerk and smiled mischievously. "He'll Also have a pounds worth of gummy worms mixed with bears, two chocolate bars, eight cream dipped strawberries and a cotton candy cup. That'll be all please." The clerk nodded and gathered our things. I turned back to Light with a smirk on my face. He stuck his rolled his eyes and laughed at me. "Fine then, I'll just have to pay you back too now."

"Here you are." The clerk interrupted us with the bags. I smiled and handed him my card. He swiped it and soon Light and I were on our way. We talked, snacked, and went into numerous stores. I even got him to try on some clothes for fun. He ended up paying me back by getting me a nice dress, and I ended up paying him again by getting him a nice new jacket. It seemed we'd be in a never ending cycle of buying things for each other. Is this what friendship is about? Either way, the day had been fun to me. As we walked along, I noticed a picture booth. I excitedly pointed at it and turned to Light. "I always see people do that on Tv with each other! Can we Light?!?!?" I didn't notice I was so excited that I was shaking. He laughed and shook his head. "Whoa if you don't calm down May, you might just explode!" He laughed at me. Light nodded and followed me to the booth. We got inside and he took over the payment. "This is because you got me that jacket." Light smiled and placed his card in the slot. I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Yeah, but now I'll have to pay you back." I wiggled my finger at him. He chuckled and pressed the button. We took 6 pictures in 6 different styles. The first one was normal with a smile. The second picture was Light ruffling my hair as I complained. The third one was me fixing it as he laughed. The fourth one was us making funny faces. The fifth one, I kissed his cheek and he looked surprised. The last one was me looking down with a shy smile and him smiling widely at the camera. We were going to choose the photo borders with a cute poop and toilet paper that said 'best friends' but that was wasn't working. In the case, we were forced to use the border with hearts and it said 'I love you'. This didnt seem to phase Light as he seemed happy either way and handed me my copy of the photo set.

"Well other than this junk food we have, I'd say we need to eat some actual food. Let's head to the food court!" He waited for my reply. I nodded and we headed to the first floor where it was located. "Light, you already know I'm going to pay because you purchased the pictures." We ordered some rice, fresh sushi rolls, and delicious chicken. As we ate, I couldn't help but notice the way Light kept looking at those pictures. It was almost as if he was happy with them. Or could it be that he is happy with me?
