All the school talked about was prom. It was enough to have to see the horribly made student council posters everywhere but to hear prom being mentioned at least five times an hour made your head hurt.

But what was talked about even more than prom was who is Mario Selman, the soccer captain going to ask.

Mario had been famous around your school for hooking up with most of the girls in your year.

Although he was a horndog, you couldn't help but not deny his charming looks and great athleticism. He had only made conversation with you once in math class, and that was to borrow a pencil so you automatically knew you were not on his prom date list.

Everyone suspected him to ask one of the girls on the cheerleading squad but his date was still unknown by the Monday before prom.

As you attempted not to yell at anyone talking about prom because you had missed out on your morning coffee, you reached your locker.

Sighing in frustration you struggled to open the locker and when you did you let out a squeal and jumped back.

Thousands of ping pong balls tumbled out of the metal box, spilling onto the floor directing everyone's attention to you.

Your cheeks burned a bright red color as you fumed, pissed that anyone would pull a prank on you but as the final ball spilled out from your locker you caught it and examined it.

In small letters the word prom. was written. You noticed all of the ping pong balls had it written on them and you wondered who would put so much effort to write prom on thousands of ping pong balls just to ask you to prom. "Will you go to prom with me?" a deep voice said from behind you.

You turned to see Mario holding a teddy bear with a Hershey's chocolate bar attached to it.
Still feeling slightly embarrassed at the amount of people staring at you you nodded shyly and saw his eyes light up with happiness.

He draped his arm over your shoulder and led you to math class

"Mario?"

"Hm?"

"How long did it take to write on all those balls?"

"You don't wanna know" he laughed.
