What was I expecting to happen? Not too sure. I just learned to roll with whatever. I remember holding Ember's hand before we entered. There was a huge eye on the middle of the floor.
"Ooo! The illuminati!" I snickered.
I could have sworn Jackie threw a huge brick at the back of my head but everyone insists it was just a pebble. "It is NOT the sign on the illuminati. It's the sign of the famous Egyptian God Horus. Don't insult their culture." Jackie hissed.
I rubbed the back of my head and nodded with a sniffle. "Yes, meanie."
Maybe I was going crazy, but Ember says she didn't hit me with a binder though that's what it felt like. "Just some papers." She told me innocently.
You know in cartoons how you have a bump on your head? I was checking to see if I had two. Wearing a helmet started to feel like a good idea. I investigated the room more. I soon noticed that there were hieroglyphics everywhere. The walls, floor, ceiling. I had a horrified moment of dread that this was going to take forever but I completely forgot that what he sees will be different from everything else.
"It's glowing. The writing at the corner of the wall on the opposite side of the entrance." He walked to it.
We looked at him. He touched the wall and we saw a bright blue aura spread through certain words on the wall. Soon a slot opened up on the wall and a stone tablet slid out. I didn't know what it was. It had the weirdest shapes. Zander squinted his eyes.
"What do you see?" Jackie asked.
Zander bit his lip. It was obvious he was trying to get use to the fact that we all new he was dyslexic and he couldn't read but naturally I step up as the great friend I am and gave him a pat on the back.
"Don't worry, bud. It's okay if you don't know: we'll help ya out," I reassured him.
He nodded faintly. "They are definitely letters. I just can't tell..." He faltered.
"It's okay. I can help you out," Jackie encouraged him.
I took a piece of paper out of my notebook and gave it to Zander. He smiled softly and began to copy the letters though he had to take brief moments to focus on each letter but Jackie helped out.
I sat next to Ember while Zander and Jackie translated the hieroglyphs.
"You okay?" I asked her.
She nodded softly but clearly something was still on her mind. I took her hand and squeezed it softly.
"Hey. I'm your, master. I'll make sure she won't get to you. I promise."
Ember smiled at me more and kissed my cheek. I blushed softly but smirked. "Follow my lead," I whispered.
"Huh? What do you---"
"Hey, me and Ember are going to check the perimeter and stuff like that."
"Yes yes, don't go too far," Jackie said as she was helping Zander translate the hieroglyphs.
Merci and Steel were too busy cuddling in each other's arms.
I held Ember's hand and lead her out of the room. The door open up automatically like those in a mall would when you're in close proximity. I took her to one of the abandoned rooms.
"Marlo, what are you---"
I held her close by her hips. She made a soft squeal as I softly kissed her lips.
I, in return, got a slap to the face.
"Owie," I pouted.
"Don't be so sudden!" She hissed softly.
