When I head down to meet the Update at the diner, I have a bounce in my step. I'm pretty jazzed to see the guy. This is new, admitting these feelings to myself, but it's good. I feel good.
                          
But when I see him through the restaurant window, I notice that he's not alone. He's flashing that Cheshire cat grin at...another Note? And it's not just any old note - it's an Android note. Yeah, you know the type. All bells and whistles and screens with curves in all the right places. Stepping back, I dial his number. There has to be an explanation. I see him briefly check his phone and put it back in his pocket, the weasel. His voicemail speaks to me instead:
                          
"You've reached Update 6.10.0!" His deep honey voice pours into my ear.  "In this release you'll find:  'Because You Searched For' recommendations are now in Home, iPad and iPhone now have the same bottom reader toolbar. Story shares on Pinterest now show a sneak peek at the story description, and we got rid of that pesky app crash if you tried to Undo what you last wrote. Got questions? Comments? I hang up before the beep and, as if on cue, the sky splits open up with hammering rain. I immediately ask Siri to point me towards the nearest watering hole and then ask myself, "are feelings only meant for fools?"
