Later, a scream rang through the camp. Blasts of powers came from every side of the camp. I saw Marcus and Jaime running towards us. Marcus was subtly trying to run and button up his shirt as he did so. 'Smooth, Jaime' I thought to myself.
"Watch out!" screamed Lily, who had formed a pistol.
She quickly shot the three guys attacking us. A blast of ice shot out from my hands at the two girls shooting fireballs at us. Oliver exhaled fire at kids attacking from behind. Lucas and Trevor created an illusion to distract three kids as Jaime painted a bomb underneath them. Marcus threw blasts of fire at some guys advancing on us. We were virtually unstoppable; we formed a circle with our backs to each other, knowing that we had each others' backs. Together, we never let anyone come within five feet of us.
As the fight wore on, I felt my strength getting more and more depleted, but I couldn't give up. My blasts of ice were beginning to grow smaller and weaker. I looked over to everyone else and noticed that they were growing tired too.
"Guys! We need to run!" someone shouted.
"Oliver and I will cover behind. Lily and Eli cover the front. Go!" ordered Marcus
We followed his instructions until we found what looked like a bomb shelter. We clambered into the shelter and found many other people inside as well. Most were young children, and some were even injured. We sat on the benches, trying to catch our breaths as the fight continued above us. After a few minutes I felt better and stronger.
"Guys. I'm going back outside," I said.
"Not alone," replied Jaime, with Lily, Lucas, Trevor, Marcus, and Oliver behind her.
I smiled and watched as they began to climb back up the stairs to the awaiting battle. Oliver held me back as they walked outside.
"One kiss? In case it's our last," he asked.
I kissed him, tasting my tears. We pulled away and slowly walked back into the battle. Just before I walked out the door, I realised that something was wrong. I stepped outside and heard nothing. It was completely quiet. Jaime, Lily, Lucas, Trevor, and Marcus were just standing there. There eyes wide and their jaws to the floor. It was a complete blood bath. We saw bodies littering the floor and it took quite an effort to step around them. The bodies were those of the mechanics and our fellow classmates alike.
"Hello? Anyone alive?" I called out.
"Over here!" I heard someone call back.
We ran in the direction of the voice and found Mrs. Spencer, Mr. Cameron, and more students.
"There are more students in the bomb shelter," I told her.
"Let's collect everyone. Oliver and Marcus, I want you two to take a sweet of the camp grounds and find any survivors. We'll meet back here and travel to the second school together," instructed Mrs. Spencer.
Oliver and Marcus swept the camp grounds, while the rest of us went back to the bomb shelter. There were a few mechanics barely alive, but we quickly got rid of them. As we were walking to the shelter, we heard muffled cries and found twin girls.
"Help us!" they cried.
They were stuck beneath a chunk of wood that had fallen off of a cabin. We freed them, but they were badly injured. Lucas and Trevor carried them to Mrs. Spencer, being careful to not injure them even further. Mrs. Spencer helped to heal them, making sure their injuries were fully gone, which was her power. Once everyone had been rounded up, we burnt everything and let the wind take the ashes. Mr. Cameron took down the invisible shield and we made our way to the Bristol campus.
