-Jades POV-
I sat in my jail cell reading "The Fault In Our Stars" for the hundredth time. It was the only book I had, and since they put me in a single cell, I had nothing else to do. Footsteps grew louder and louder down the hallway towards my cage. The door opened and I looked up. "You have a visitor." A blond police officer said. I closed my book and set it down next to me on my bed. I stood up and walked with her. I couldn't help but wonder, who'd want to see a sad looking murderer?
I was pushed into the visitation room and realized who was waiting for me at the table. I shuffled over to a seat and sat across Laurelle. Her eyes were wide through her glasses as I took a seat. She looked mad and disappointed. I wouldn't blame her, I hurt her son. It was the last thing I wanted to do.
"Hello Scarlett, or who ever you are." I glanced at her, my lips shut and eyes droopy. I didn't want to speak, not yet.
"I've done some asking around and it appears that your real name is Jade Peterson correct?" I nodded, "You killed your mum and dad when you were ten years old, and you've been here for five?"
I was still silent and looked away from her, "Why?" She asked, "Why did you have to lie? To me, to Tyde, to all of us?"
My mouth was shut, "God damn it, Say something!" She screamed. "If you won't do it for me, do it for Tyde." Laurelle sighed, "Lord, how he loves you. I can't believe that you just used him like that. Do you have any idea how much pain he's in right now? He's basically beating himself up inside because of you."
I looked up at her and the tears began to form. I could just imagine him crying because of what I did to him.
"Why'd you do it?"
"You know how it feels to let someone you love go? Just so they could be happy?" I said. "That's what I did with Tyde. It was batter if I let him go then constantly lie to him"
"He's not happy."
"Don't you think I know that?" I paused, "I didn't want to tell him before because I loved him too much to let him go. I was never prepared for things to end, especially like this. I lied to protect him." I wept.
"You love him?" She whispered.
"More than he could ever love me." I took a deep breath, "But it's too late for that now."
I stood up and walked towards the door, ready to be taken back to my imprisonment.***

Stay strong! Some of the security guards thought I was emotionally well enough to begin the responsibilities I had to do around the center. Today I was cleaning toilets along with two other girls. They had finished long before I had so I was in charge of putting all of the cleaning supplies away.
I walked into the cleaning closet with the cart of house home chemicals the girls and I had taken into the restroom. I took everything off and neatly put them in place. I couldn't stop thinking about the visit with Laurelle. It made me feel sad that Tyde had felt this bad about the situation. It was all my fault. If I didn't escape, none of this would have ever happened.
I leaned up against the wall and three bottles fell from the shelves. My impact must've shaken the unsteady metal racks. I sighed as I bent down to pick up the bottles. "Tyde isn't the same anymore." A voice I my head said as I got on my knees. "It's all your fault." "You break everything and everyone you touch." I snapped back into reality and looked back down at the chemical bottles. I looked at the first one I picked up, a bottle of bleech. "You know want to end it, so just do it."
My heart began to race as I opened the bottle. My breathing grew heavy and I took on big swig of the clear poison.
I wiped my mouth and coughed. The bleech burned as it ran down my throat. My vision was beginning to go in and out of focus as I kept coughing. "This is it." I thought, "Its over."
I coughed once more and then fell on my side as everything turned black.-Tydes POV-
One day later...
I walked into the lobby of the detention center. The center was dark and gray, the lobby was full of trash when I looked around. "May I help you?" A woman behind a glass window asked. She snapped me back into reality.
I walked over to her, "Yes I'm here to see inmate, Jade Peterson." I said.
"Name?"
"Tyde Mellet." She began to type on a computer. I looked behind her and saw the first few cells. It sent a shiver down my spine. How could she live like this?
"Jade Peterson you said correct?" I nodded. "Mr. Mellet I'm sorry but..." the words that came out of her mouth struck me and everything became uneasy.
