Judy's perky behavior continued for about four months. Judy was usually a perky bunny. But how happy she was lately, scared Nick a bit. He didn't know what was wrong with her.
Maybe they rushed into things to quickly? He just didn't know."So she just been really happy lately. So what? Woman get like that randomly. Watch. Next month she's gonna be chasing you around with scissors." Finnick snickered as he and Nick sat up in the control room of Wild Times.
"I know......but..she's always been a happy person. But lately....it's as if she's not even Judy." Nick said as he turned on the lights to the park as the evening sky set in.
"Then who is she?' Finnick scoffed.
"She's still Judy.....but...but.....she's just acting so weird. Do you think we were to fast? Should we have lived together longer before tying the knot?—I just don't know!" Nick exclaimed as he threw his hands up.
"Chill, dude. You didn't rush. You knew her outside of your relationship for a year. It would be different if you just met and then got married." Finnick huffed. "I still have nightmares about Judy's siblings." Finnick shuttered.
Nick chuckled softly as he calmed down.
"Yeah......there were a lot of little bunnies at the wedding, huh?" He chuckled.
"Speaking of little bunnies. How many little bunnies has Judy popped out yet?" Finnick smirked over at his friend.
"Popped out....." Nick thought for a second before furrowing his eyebrows. "FINNICK!" He shouted angrily.
Finnicks ears flattened but he started laughing. "So zero then?" He laughed so loud his laughing almost being inaudible.
"Yes. There's zero. And we're gonna keep it that way." Nick growled lowly as his ears flattened. Holding himself back from straight up attacking his friend. But of course, he was in no way serious.
Finnick quickly stopped laughing when he heard the last part of Nicks sentence.
"Whoa....man, take it easy." Finnick said as he sat straight up.
"That's not what Judy told me." He added under his breath with a small smirk.
Nick, clearly didn't hear his friend. He took a deep breath the calm himself down before standing up, and walking out of the control room. Still holding himself back.Hours later, Judy had just gotten back to her and Nick's apartment. She had a grocery bag. As well as all her weapons from the ZPD. Being that she was still in uniform. She basically threw the bag up onto the kitchen counter before entering her room. She went to 'her' side of the closet and changed into a grey pair of sweatpants and a blue sweatshirt that had 'ZPD' on the back. She washed up and made her way back into the kitchen.
Judy took a deep breath before crouching down and then jumping up a bit, barley grabbing onto the bag as she pulled it towards herself. Once she caught her balance. She reached into the bag and pulled out two bread bowls. She smiled sweetly before going over to the oven and forcing the door open. She had a bit of a struggle but eventually got both buns in the oven. She shut the oven and exhaled deeply.
"And now. I wait." She said to herself as she walked over to the couch. She climbed up and sat back against it. Exhaling one more time.
Judy watched a few movies. And she almost fell asleep a couple times. But her ears perked up at the suddenness of the front door opening. She turned her head to see Nick walking in. And he looked exhausted. She smiled warmly. Knowing what she was planning on doing would cheer him up. Hopefully.
"Nick! How was work?" She exclaimed happily as the fox made his way over to the couch.
Nick smiled tiredly at the bunny. He leaned down and kissed her cheek softly.
"It was okay....but my favorite part of the day is coming home to you." Nick grinned over at Judy.
Judys smile widened and she placed her paws together.
"I uh....I have a surprise for you! And it's going to make you feel so much better!" Judy said, her unusually cheerful self coming out.
Nick frowned a bit, but then he smirked.
"Well what is it?" He leaned towards the bunny.
Judy took a deep breath before pointing over the couch and towards the oven.
"It's in there." She said quickly.
Nick raised an eyebrow but he sighed.
"Alright.....what is it?" The fox asked as he stood up slowly.
"Look inside and you'll see." Judy said as she watched the fox walk into the kitchen. She could feel her tensions rising happily as he walked over to the oven.
Nick clearly had no idea what he was doing. He hesitated, then reluctantly reached down and opening the oven. He then raised an eyebrow again at the sight of the two bread bowls.
"Uh....Jude. I don't get it. Why are there bread bowls in here?" Nick asked as he took one of the bread bowls out and held it in his paw.
Judy covered her mouth before giggling quietly.
"It's a bun....." Judy said with a wide smile.
"A bun?......there's a bun in our oven?—there's a bun in the oven!" Nick exclaimed as he dropped the bread bowl and basically backed up against the counter.
"SUR.....prise.....?" Judy exclaimed before slowly calming her voice down at she saw her husbands reaction.
"Surprise? Surprise?! Are you kidding me, Judy!" Nick shouted with wide eyes as he walked around the counter and back into the living room. He got in front of the couch and got onto his knees so Judy was taller than him, even sitting down.
"I...I—" Judy's ears flattened as she got cut off by Nick.
"You have to be kidding! Tell me you're joking! Please tell me you're joking!" Nick grabbed onto the bunnys upper arms lightly as the light on his collar shined yellow and tears formed in his eyes.
Judy's eyes widened at his reaction. She wasn't expecting this. Not at all. She took a deep breath and pushed back her urge to cry.
"Y-yes.....Im joking. Of course I'm just joking...." Judy lied as she nodded towards the fox. The last thing she wanted was Nick to shock himself. Even if that meant hiding it for a little longer.
