"Tuesday. Nothing much to say. Another shitty day."

Veronica woke up at noon. She felt a lot better, sleep is always helpful.
- Am I a fool to cry over a cat? What's wrong with you, Veronica? What's happening?- She felt alone. That was happening. On her own in such a big city. -At first it feels like heaven, then sucks- she thought. -I need to meet again that woman. I don't even know her name.- She had lunch and quickly left. -I'll work later.-
Veronica was a journalist, a very good one. She worked for a small newspaper and her job was to fill the cinema pages. She had always loved cinema, since she was a child. So that was her dream job, became true, in her favourite city. A dream. But loneliness screwed up all.
She reached the bench. She was there. The woman was there, with Molly on her laps. Veronica sat on the bench. "Good afternoon"
"Good afternoon Veronica"
Wait, what?
"How do you remember my name? " "I might be blind, but I'm not deaf. I remember people's voices. I care of little details that no one sees, altought they have eyes. The soft Italian accent you have, you conceal it well, but not enough to fool me" The woman burst out in a huge laugh.
"Oh well, this is amazing. It's true, I was born in Italy, but I've been living here for four years now. "
"How old are you sweetheart, if I'm not too rude to ask?"
"26"
"You're so young! And you must be really beautiful too! Let me touch your face"
"Ok, I guess" Veronica laughed. The unnamed woman touched her face. "What a face! You are truly beautiful. And those lips. Do they kiss often?" Wasn't that woman a bit too indiscreet?
"Not really"
"But how can it be? Men must be blind!"
She stopped suddenly,  realizing she had just made fun of herself and laughed, even harder than before. -This woman is a force of nature- Veronica thought -I'd like to be like her, someday-
"Anyway my name is Gabrielle." Finally.
"Nice to meet you Gabrielle. Could you please take your hands off of my face. Because, you know, people are looking at us in a strange way " "You're right. They just look. They don't peer thought things. They're afraid of different. Anyway, sorry" Gabrielle said taking her hands off Veronica. The pair chatted for hours, like they had known each other for ages. Molly was sleeping on Gabrielle' s laps.
"Oh my god! It's awfully late! I need to come back home and work on my reviews of the next movies coming out. I'm afraid I can't stay here longer. It's been a pleasure, Gabrielle. Thank you."
"Thank YOU for finding time to spend with a blind old woman like me."
" You're a  wonderful woman. Don't forget it"
"You are wonderful too, Veronica. I hope to see you soon."
"Absolutely.  Bye" "Bye " Veronica left with a big smile on her face. She had found a friend. A true one.
