My last day with Josh was sunny.

It's almost like the weather wanted this to be memorable, even if I didn't.

I left my bedroom early, finding him in the kitchen. He was listening to the radio. He looked beautiful.

We spent the whole morning together, everything that used to be good now perfect.

'Simon?' he mumbled into my hair. We were sat, entwined in the living room, golden sunlight spilling through the open window.

'Josh?' I responded, feeling his fingers swirl patterns across my bare arms.

'Do you love me?' I froze, not expecting the question, or the power in his words.

'I do.' I answered, as I felt his mouth curl into a smile against the nape of my neck.

'I need to go record, you mind if I borrow your camera for a second?' I heard him ask. I hummed in consent, seemingly drunk from his touch and the warm, amber light.

It was about ten minutes later that it struck me.

'My camera...' I gasped, launching myself up the stairs and pushing into Josh's bedroom.

When I opened the closed door, he was staring in the screen in disbelief, and I could feel the crack in his heart shivering through his feet and into the air between us as I heard my own voice echo from the small device.

'...so I have to leave.'

Josh turned to look at me, trembling, his usually steady hand holding a shake instead.

'I was... I was looking at how much storage you had...' he choked, the bewildered look on his face portraying his confusion.

All I heard before I started running was the crack in his voice.

'Simon- wait...'
